I moved out two months ago, we've been separated for 8 months now. Started dating a girl 3 weeks ago and have had more/better sex in the past 3 weeks than the last 5 years.
/r/Divorce_Men27/07/26 08:59 PM
9

I just recently started dating after 17 years togher then 8 months separated. I'll say it helps a lot. I've only been out with one girl a few times, but just feeling like you can be appreciated again... makes you think.

This doesn't work with the narcissist female of 2026
/r/Divorce_Men28/06/26 04:55 PM
2

Nonstop constantly. I know exactly how I'd do it. I freeze up and have second thoughts when I think about it being explained to my son. Can't have him go through that, he is pretty much everything
/r/Divorce_Men18/06/26 01:32 AM
1

Ding. Same here. As soon as I realized I was being gaslit I stopped. She needed the mental help. I might need it to keep myself above ground but not to help her feel vindicated cheating on me. These bitches take zero accountability
/r/Divorce_Men16/06/26 01:38 AM
2

Honestly I don’t think she is. I made it perfectly clear that having anything to do with him will lead me to taking our son to keep him away from that.

Yes. Also the felon she decided to screw
/r/Divorce_Men07/06/26 10:27 PM

Hers matches mine now… it’s a 50/50 state so yeah
/r/Divorce_Men04/06/26 05:56 PM
2

Is that possible? That would be great
/r/Divorce_Men04/06/26 05:48 PM

I lived with her for five years before marriage and then she changed in just the past few years (11 years married)
/r/Divorce_Men04/06/26 05:11 PM

Thanks. I don’t think I’m gonna do anything to myself but if one of these meteors came down and wiped me out I’d be ok with that

Wedding vows don’t mean shit to these cunts

I'd refuse to sign anything like that. Tell your lawyer if its not the LAW you aren't agreeing to it, then fight it forever.
/r/Divorce_Men27/05/26 02:46 AM

They all have the same playbook. It’s always the man’s fault and no matter what they have all been conditioned to somehow believe the garbage coming out of their mouth. I too felt that for the first couple of months, until my eyes opened
/r/Divorce_Men25/05/26 07:29 PM

Mine lost a bunch of weight without the glp-1, and lost her mind. I don’t think it’s the drug I think the weight loss has an effect on the brain where they go all retarded and all logic and reasoning goes out the door
/r/Divorce_Men25/05/26 02:37 PM

Tried it for a couple months then things kept getting worse and worse in my life so I stopped
/r/Divorce_Men25/05/26 12:50 AM

I’ve got a bunch of childhood trauma but I really can’t see all my problems stemming from that. Really I’m just an unhappy pile of shit that should just ease everyone else’s suffering

1

Pretty much. Can only do this so long.
/r/Divorce_Men24/05/26 09:47 PM

I’m feeling the same and haven’t even moved out yet. I’m a husband and dad and with the husband role going away I no longer seem to fit in with our ‘crowd.’
/r/Divorce_Men23/05/26 10:29 PM
3

Same, at least five years where I never got a 'oh that looks nice' or anything. Even when I'd go fishing for a compliment. I've changed beard styles a lot and would always ask for her opinion and she'd always just say 'it's all fine.' How stupid was I, wanting my wifes opinion on my looks. God I was blind.
/r/Divorce_Men23/05/26 02:33 AM

How did it end up this way?
/r/Divorce_Men22/05/26 10:23 PM

TWO YEARS?! why the hell does she get two years to refinance? You’re supposed to be in limbo for two fucking years?!
/r/Divorce_Men22/05/26 09:06 PM

I’m a little apprehensive about the fact that I WILL be moving again after one year. I’ll be buying a place because I’m not cut out for renting. Thst will necessitate another move for kiddo.
/r/Divorce_Men22/05/26 03:16 PM

Yeah the apartment is picked already. It’s very near a park and his school. Also far more than I’d spend if it was just me.
/r/Divorce_Men22/05/26 01:33 AM
2

If you have kids….
/r/Divorce_Men21/05/26 09:36 PM

Same. My kid will know all her transgressions
/r/Divorce_Men18/05/26 02:37 PM
3

We’ve been avoiding telling him since December until we had a ‘plan’ then things kept getting in the way. 13 is a different age, but for my son things that helped seem to be: A) my choice of apartment - it’s really nice, very close to his school and walking distance to a park, 5 minutes from his mom. B) I got him excited about picking out stuff for his new room. C) the tension has been palpable. I think he’s glad to finally be in the know. D) he’s recently got more friends with divorced parents,…

I had retina surgery that’s temporarily blinded me (from 50% to 100%) but my vision should come back more than 50% by Friday, hopefully
/r/Divorce_Men17/05/26 09:35 PM
3

I’d say if it’s possible to remain in a healthy relationship with your mom as well. I wouldn’t want my son to hate his mom just because she cant figure out how to not fuck randos
/r/Divorce_Men17/05/26 02:39 AM
3

That’s what I’m having done. Thankfully I have a desk job so shouldn’t be too bad for out of work time I hope
/r/Divorce_Men12/05/26 05:04 PM
1

Ahh sounds like a bleed. I was blind for a couple weeks in one eye, and it was soo close to being cleared up with just some annoying floaties. The retina dr didn’t seem convinced when I said I was 90% sure my nonstop stress was the cause of all this shit.
/r/Divorce_Men12/05/26 02:53 PM
1

Well, fine for now. But there’s more in life than money, but I won’t deny that it helps. I was diiiirt poor for most of my life
/r/Divorce_Men12/05/26 02:35 PM
2

Did you just have a bleed in your eye or an actual tear that requires surgery? I feel like I’m literally in hell, and I can’t figure out what I did to get there
/r/Divorce_Men12/05/26 02:34 PM
4

Yes we have a 10 year old son
/r/Divorce_Men12/05/26 02:32 PM
2

Have you gone through a retina tear? It currently my most pressing and terrifying issue
/r/Divorce_Men12/05/26 01:20 PM
3

My job stress is through the roof. I’m thankful to have an understanding boss. If I lose this job it’d be the end of me
/r/Divorce_Men12/05/26 12:53 PM

I’ve got a 10 year old. He’s the star of his select baseball team and my pride and joy. I’ve been oscillating between severe lows and then some decent highs when I’m around him. But more low than high
/r/Divorce_Men12/05/26 11:51 AM

Mine thinks he whole fuckin weekend should be her special time to do what she wants and not acknowledge our sons existence. I’ll be glad to be done with this entitled bitch. Her birthday is ‘birthday month’ too.
/r/Divorce_Men11/05/26 01:40 PM

Tell her to fuck off
/r/Divorce_Men11/05/26 01:44 AM

This is the way. Block her camera and all of her other devices while you’re at it

Get a better lawyer. Assuming you’re in your own home and in the US you 100% have a presumed right to privacy whether some retarded family court fuckwad with a robe says so or not.

Keep track of all that shit and when you're done tell her you wont pay for those things - she initiated and asked after all. Then report her to the bar regardless

She uses every dish in the house to make herself meals while she ‘works’ from home then gets mad when I expect her to do dishes.

Dogs and kids.. the most innocent of victims in this crap
/r/Divorce_Men04/05/26 07:34 PM

And the simple answer is, for some reason stupid females seem to think putting a clock on when a man should date is OK.

/r/Divorce_Men04/05/26 03:07 PM

17 years, 11 married.. the last 9 were hard(since our son was born) no real fights. No real discussion, just no sex and at some point I started getting bothered by her not wanting to touch me. Then she started cheating on me.
/r/Divorce_Men03/05/26 01:32 PM
2

I don’t want it but I want my kid to still live there(half time) as it’s where he’s always been. That and I am eternally fucked up from moving around as a kid
/r/Divorce_Men02/05/26 06:28 PM
3

It would strictly be in order to keep the kids childhood home available to him
/r/Divorce_Men02/05/26 05:55 PM
2

Yup the math is shitty. I’m willing to cut her a deal and include lots of things like our high end scag mower, as long as I’m not gonna get shafted
/r/Divorce_Men02/05/26 02:42 PM
2

I have a number I want it to be at but it’ll likely be far over. Ideally it’ll be cheap enough she can afford it but not too much where I feel like I’m being screwed if I give her a deal. I want my kid to stay in the house.
/r/Divorce_Men02/05/26 01:23 PM

Spent 15 years telling her she needed braces (very gently, but her teeth were crooked AF).. 2 years ago she finally got braces, lost 50 lbs, lost her mind and now we're divorcing.
/r/Divorce_Men01/05/26 06:39 PM

She’ll get one after the mommy makeover to cover up scars. I guarantee it

You’ll be surprised how many of us have been or still are in this u comfortable state
/r/Divorce_Men30/04/26 11:21 PM
1

Yeah it’s gonna be hard. If my son was your age I’d want him to know a) it’ll be ok, b) I’d still be there for him forever and c)hopefully so will mom. If I were you, I’d make it clear that you’re not going to choose sides and not going to be a middle man. Maybe make an extra effort to do something with your dad that isn’t drinking. Whatever it is you guys like to do.

I’d have stayed til my kid was grown and off to college, not that I had a choice

Hey I could have wrote this. 17 year relationship, 11 years married. 9 year old son. We came from nothing together and I loved her even when she weighed 220 lbs. I helped her get her career, hell I wrote every resume she’s ever used. She didn’t get on a glp-1 but lost a bunch of weight and is looking better than ever. I was so proud of her, until found out she was cheating on me. Then everything wrong in her life became my fault. Endless gaslighting. I went to therapy saying I wanted to work on …
/r/Divorce_Men26/04/26 01:20 AM

Every day. I wonder if I was just blind and stupid, or if she really did change. I'm 95% sure she changed.

Yeah that’s what I did as a responsible adult 15 years ago.
/r/Divorce_Men24/04/26 02:32 PM

I disagree. 100k in student debt in your 30s isn’t a sustainable amount. On a 10 yr repayment that’s like.. $1500/mo? I’m not telling this dude to ditch it right away, but he very very weary of your own finances and don’t get lured into paying for someone else’s problems
/r/Divorce_Men24/04/26 02:23 PM
2

How long you been separated in the same house? I’m at 4.5 months now. Does it feel like cheating still when you go out and enjoy your time? For me it feels like cheating on my son when I go out for an evening, if that makes sense.
/r/Divorce_Men19/04/26 11:58 PM
4

We were all blind
/r/Divorce_Men19/04/26 02:37 PM
6

Yup. It was years here. The worst part was I was just agreeing to everything. She’d say “want to do x this weekend?” What she really meant was “if you say no, no matter how it’s said, it’s going to be a fight about you not wanting to do anything.” For some reason as we’re still in the same house it still continues. She pretty much dictates what’s going on with our kid and I just let it happen like a little bitch. I can’t wait to get out.
/r/Divorce_Men19/04/26 02:19 PM
2

I’m with you. I think I’ve posted the same problem before. My son, only kid, is 9 almost 10. I hear his little voice and little laugh and always think he’s too innocent for all of this. I’m so scared to tell him, but to be completely honest he’s probably ready for it. Wife and I have been living together separately for 4.5 months now.
/r/Divorce_Men19/04/26 12:46 AM

My kid is going to be 10. My stbx thinks we can kind of do custody ad-hoc, I’m hesitant to even try that.

/r/Divorce_Men18/04/26 04:24 PM

I hate rsvping to games anyhow. He’s on the team yes he’s going.
/r/Divorce_Men17/04/26 08:49 PM

I could have wrote this, but I only have one kid. I’m trying not to be confrontational, as I want this to be over as amicably as possible and not show the kid how much I can’t stand her now. I think all women do this shit.
/r/Divorce_Men15/04/26 09:34 PM

Thanks for the heads up. I’m thankfully in one of those states where 50/50 default is law. I don’t think she’ll ever try to keep him away, but I worry someday he will be not want to go with dad for a variety of reasons - like him getting my stubbornness.

We were together for 17 years when neither of us were anything. We struggled like hell and got where we are from absolutely nothing.

Those days when you go to the store and walk around and are just completely 100% numb to the world suck. Like you’re physically in one place and your mind is in another galaxy of pain.

I’m sorry brother. I’m about a year behind you. Wondering what I did to make her cheat. We built an extraordinary life and family together and she just wants to throw it all away like it never meant a thing.

Its not so much about careers but that's definitely a part of it. I don't want a woman who's still figuring out what she's going to do with life. It feels like too many are looking for a man to just prop them up, rather than be together.
/r/Divorce_Men05/04/26 12:24 AM

I had a kid. Love him more than life itself. Wish I’d had this exact kid with someone else. To be fair, she’s a great mom but an awful awful wife and human

Don't. You've got 2 kids who rely on a family. I'd do absolutely anything to be able to keep my family together for my son.
/r/Divorce_Men03/04/26 03:16 AM

Ahh i had that too -not allowed to disagree at all. She was/is sort of an RN. Not one thats even done patient care for a decade. Yet she'd pretend to know absolutely fing everything about health and wellness... I'd just shut up and let her have her way, whatever stupid crap she'd do to our son's healthcare..

There's never any accountability on women's parts. As I've touched the dating apps even, one red flag I'm seeing is women who blame everything on their exes. Very very rarely do you find one with a single itty bitty drop of accountability.

I actually went longer than that without sex, then things started to get a little bit better for a time..
/r/Divorce_Men02/04/26 02:26 PM

Yeah thats what happened to me too brother. Never a discussion, a fight, nothing.. just the feeling of disconnect slowly slowly slowly over the course of years.. then she decided to connect her vagina with someone else.

He fucked up by getting involved with a woman with those in her life to begin with
/r/Divorce_Men31/03/26 09:42 PM

Mine lost like 50 pounds and her mind went with it. I think weight loss in pre-menopausal women results in de-myelination of their neurons, resulting in fucking crazy

Agree. This is not the place for them

Same except she lost a bunch of weight and started screwing some fat jobless carless slob she met at the gym. First guy who gave her any attention since me.

Hell to the no. But she’s probably already banding someone and meeting them wherever the trip is planned

Okay I say this as someone in a similar situation and o won’t even take this advice for myself, plus I’m drunk cause it’s the only way I sleep now; Infidelity doesn’t matter in 99.9% of cases. The IS court system has decided that women can fuck around as much as they want without consequence. Yes it seems fast. Objectively, getting it done and over with is best for everyone. I feel the same as you and want to just… ignore the existence of divorce. I feel your pain man. I’ve been trying to put to…

My stbx when she was telling me how she loved me but wasn’t in love with me actually had the balls to cry and tell me “I never want you to hate me.” Well how about not cheating on me and trying to work on our marriage instead of going from happy to divorce overnight? How bout that?!

In Wisconsin you can do a joint filing where no lawyer is needed

There was a time in my early 20s where I craved the blind faith that churchgoers have. Always able to blame ‘Gods plan’ on anything that happens to them. Long since outgrown that
/r/Divorce_Men23/03/26 01:35 PM
10

Ok, I agree about avoiding churches… but what is your reasoning?
/r/Divorce_Men23/03/26 01:25 PM

If you’re like me - just worried about the kids - no. I fear for my child’s future

Counter with your own parenting plan. NEVER EVER take 'someone's lawyer's' proposal as a judgement. In fact, thats the opposite of what you should do. Remember, that lawyer is YOUR OPPONENT. If thats the starting point, good.

She ‘thought maybe I had someone else.’ Then she wasn’t happy because I wear my shoes in the house. Or because I wouldn’t let her get chickens(a conversation we never had, she had been joking about the neighbor wanting chickens). Let’s see what else…I don’t like to constantly have people over at the house, or throw elaborate expensive parties and never get invited to their get togethers. She liked blowing money on people who clearly only used us for our money.

The one blessing is that we’re in one of the few 50/50 states, and we both make the same amount of money. I think we’ll still get ojekaywer involved just so we don’t fuck something up

I feel this one. One thing I'm constantly told is that no matter how traumatic my parents divorce was (it was realllly bad).. I am not my parents and we can do it better.
/r/Divorce_Men16/03/26 03:12 AM

I've been living in a place too small for our family since covid (no office space).. Not really wanting to downsize.
/r/Divorce_Men13/03/26 10:24 PM

This is my general thought as well. There's also the part of me that is worried I'll buy a bunch of new shit to fill a place I'll rent for a year, then buy a house that requires different shit..
/r/Divorce_Men13/03/26 09:43 PM

Sounds like mine after I found her cheating on me. Still in the process and she still has been amicable.. i guess.

No advice for you, but best of luck and keep us informed.
/r/Divorce_Men13/03/26 02:50 PM

Can you explain how this strategy was supposed to make sense?
/r/Divorce_Men12/03/26 04:22 PM

Thanks for the advice. He’s definitely mine and o don’t think her infidelity goes back that far. She’s ALWAYS wanted sex a lot less than a normal woman but my dumb ass was in love. Kid has my obvious characteristics.

I’m having a super tough time. Gym has been my happy place for 2+ years and I’m in the best shape of my life. Haven’t been able to lift for 3 weeks since I had a retinal hemorrhage half blinding me and I need to rest to get it to clear. Fml

/r/Divorce_Men07/03/26 04:17 AM

Since she lost a bunch of weight to start cheating on me, I fully plan to keep all her fat pics around and send them to her and whatever other scrubs she ends up with in perpetuity. I stayed by her when she went from the 4/10 I met to the 0.5/10 and fat as fuck. She'll have to be reminded.
/r/Divorce_Men06/03/26 03:20 AM
2

Well good for you. I've not been 'normal' for a long time, I've always been depressed and recently pushed over the edge. I'm just trying to stay functioning enough to keep my job and stay alive for my son. At this point I'll do whatever it takes to acheive that.
/r/Divorce_Men02/03/26 02:31 PM
2

I've been in the gym 6 or more days for the past 2+ years. Currently dealing with a retina issue and they've told me to avoid the gym until its better. Seriously I'm living in hell.

I went to six sessions and just stopped. He was a great venting space and probably had some good feedback and a little insight into her mind. That said, I felt like I was paying for someone to listen to me but not to care about me.
/r/Divorce_Men26/02/26 04:34 AM

Mine lost 50 or 60 lbs. We've both been to the gym consistenty for over 2 years. Just since fall she became absolutely obsessive with her calories and food, and lost a bunch of weight in a hurry. She's looking better, no doubt.. first attention she got from a felon with 3 open drug charges and she goes out cheating with him. Caught her at his apartment. I'm sure he's lost her god damned mind, cheating on me with a loser like that.
/r/Divorce_Men23/02/26 11:58 PM

The idea of waiting a year after divorce after being in a dead marriage for years sounds awful.
/r/Divorce_Men23/02/26 04:25 PM
2

Still doing the cohabitating and separated thing. Yes I still love her, despite her cheating on me. I still love her whole family, they've been closer to me for the past 15 years than my family ever was. Hurts so much. At least I BELIEVE she'll be a good coparent to our son, whos going to be devistated.
/r/Divorce_Men23/02/26 02:37 PM

Mine too, she lost like 50lbs and went and cheated on me with some felon at the gym.

I was a jobless fatty at that time. 20 years later I’m a well paid professional whose looks have outperformed his age.
/r/Divorce_Men21/02/26 03:18 PM

Mine wasn’t crazy, she just went crazy over the past couple years. Weight loss in women makes them crazy, I’m convinced their neurons get shriveled up.
/r/Divorce_Men21/02/26 02:01 PM
2

Yeah maybe that’s a better way to put it. I can see someone’s typed profile and know whether or not I’m interested, then if the pictures are good I’ll like them. No full body pics or if I have to guess which one is them, no go.
/r/Divorce_Men21/02/26 01:50 PM

Yeah if you don’t got your shit together by 40 I ain’t gonna babysit.

/r/Divorce_Men12/02/26 05:12 AM

Not even close. I’m afraid of missing the opportunity if I wait
/r/Divorce_Men10/02/26 03:43 PM

This is fair. I guess my plan is to rebuild everything the WE had. Nice house, big yard, big rooms. Not that I want everything the same, but I want to not feel like this was a complete waste of 25 years of adulthood. I came from absolute nothing to get where I’m at. Thought I had everything with my little three person and a dog family
/r/Divorce_Men10/02/26 02:10 PM

I’ve found live shows on YouTube helpful. I’m almost always listening to something live on YouTube these days. For me it’s true crime and live trials w commentary
/r/Divorce_Men09/02/26 12:07 PM

We haven’t even filed yet and I’m ready. To each their own,m. I may not be ready for a full on relationship but I’m certainly long since ready to feel wanted again. I avoided opportunities to cheat or any of that, then she goes out and cheats with the first guy to give her the time of day since me.

Well he is likely going to prison soon. He’s such a winner he has three felonies against him currently

Im not talking the little things. I'm talking things like $500+
/r/Divorce_Men02/02/26 06:49 PM

Yeah its all so new, we haven't even filed yet. We want to do it together and figure shit out so that we can save probalby 20k on bloodsucking lawyer fees. I'm really most worried about my son, whos 9.5

No I will not just give her everything. That is fucking stupid
/r/Divorce_Men02/02/26 05:51 PM

I'm at the very beginning of everything. Right now I miss the idea of keeping my family together, if that makes sense. With the two of us we've got a pretty successful life - even if the love has been gone awhile.
/r/Divorce_Men02/02/26 05:49 PM
2

Thats just a given, why would that need to be included?
/r/Divorce_Men02/02/26 05:37 PM

I wonder if this will be my case. We both make low six figures but every week I see so much waste from her. From food that goes unused into the trash, crazy excessive water usage, shit she buys for no apparent reason except for more clutter to hitch about etc
/r/Divorce_Men02/02/26 05:12 PM

Id say around here that christmas schedule would cause havoc. Most schools aren't out the entire week of christmas - here it looks like it assumes schools are out starting december 20 every year

Can I ask what state?
/r/Divorce_Men01/02/26 06:31 PM
