The Lord has made it clear that I am to stay at my job until He provides something else, and the job is sucking the life out of me. I’m just hanging on at this point and can’t see a way to really move the needle in this area. I'm heading to a new job in the middle of September. It took 3 weeks between first contact, interviews, to offer. First point is that it doesn't need to take long. But the second point is more relevant to you. It's easy to reach me. My LinkedIn profile is up to date, with m…

Did you know that re-wiring mental processes requires 1) activate engagement and 2) continual effort? What do you think the role of Rule 9 is in this process?

I'm curious how you enforce this boundary? I am in a similar spot and I feel what I provide isn't appreciated and is taken for granted. I make sure other people feel the pain. If they don't want the carrot, they can have the stick. In this case, I remove my effort.

There's a couple of things that I'm particularly proud of: family work 1. Family They get the life. The opportunities my daughter gets are incredible. I grew up as an only child, single mother from a foreign country. It was hindering in many ways. My daughter's growing up in a whole different world. Loving mom, loving grandma, stupid amounts of presents, lots of opportunities for sports, activities, etc. I went to a play date that some of the parents at her daycare organized - it was incredible.…

You're going to get a rule 9 probably It's a beautiful thing that all the regular posters can see it coming from a mile away. What's even better is that you guys all get why rule 9 is such an important thing.

So why are you here? Unemployed sack of shit Get a job. You know how long it took me to find a job back in 2014 when I finished my PhD? 3 hours. I went to the u-haul that was looking for moonlighters and they were willing to hire me for $12/hr. I turned it down, but it said to me that if I wanted to work, I could do it without any issue. But I guess the difference between me and you, is that I have a PhD and do shit, while you're a worthless sack of shit that sits home, smokes weed, and plays vi…

still not feeling attraction from my wife. You're not supposed to feel the attraction from your wife. She has a 10 year history of you being a fucking loser. Instead, you're supposed to feel the attraction from women in general, and that'll change the demeanor with which you engage with your wife. If you have young kids, you see them everyday, so the fact that they're growing fast as hell is lost because you see all of it. For a 3rd party who only sees them occasionally, the changes will be much…

The thing is that there's constantly that "she" part that keeps appearing in my thought process. I am feeling horny. I initiate and get a part of what I want - so there's sex, but with an unwilling partner. It's my fault that I haven't incorporated any kino/buildup during the day. So if I want to have a willing sex, I need to make sure SHE is in the mood - now if that's not about putting the "she" thing on a pedestal, I don't know what that is. You're gonna get rule 10'd here. If she's not a rec…

Trainwreck here. Wife is six months pregnant and we have not been in the best place in the last couple of months. This has culminated in a cold war/silent treatment that was sparked off by a short argument about a barbecue. Cold shoulder for a week, despite some attempts to bridge the gap from me, which was topped off by her cancelling a birthday weekend away. She didn't bother to say anything until I suggested we travel and finally talk about it on the way up. Why are you putting up with shitty…

I had a goal of being director level by 40. Got my offer today (1 month past 35). Do I have the skills needed to operate at the Director level? The company obviously thinks so. Me? I have no fucking idea. What does it mean to be a successful at the director at a 300-person company? Fuck if I know. As far as I can tell, and I'll have to get this cleared up, is to set the vision, build the team, and make sure I'm giving enough guidance for them to execute - and not root around in the nitty gritty,…

I planned a “surprise” vacation this weekend with no kids for me and wife to a beach on a plane. If you're looking to buy sex, let me suggest hookers. They're cheaper and more professional. Kids If you're as trash at being a husband as you at a being a parent, I feel bad for everyone around you.

So Saturday, after I get some work done and errands run, she drops the kids off with my mom and springs an afternoon/evening with me car shopping and then shopping with me mainly for me. I look at what I want to look at. I go buy more clothes for me along with new cologne. We have dinner, we go home and have sex before getting the kids from my mom's house, and she's into all of it. This weekend marks the 3rd time I've had a fat husband accuse me of trying to bang his wife. He made a fool of himself publicly yelling about it. Congratulations. Dudes probably recognize that their wives want to fuck you and are projecting. Maybe you should back to wearing hawaiian shirts?

Nice example of why Rule 9 and being able to focus on your own wants/thoughs/etc. is so important. It's not about you vs. someone else, but that's inherently reactive. You're trying to judge someone else's mindset, which is impossible. Instead, simply set out your plan and figure out where and how you want or need to compromise.

Here's some tactical advice. We have a shared calendar. Anything that needs to be blocked out gets put on the shared calendar - somethings are more optional than others (e.g. play dates). If the time isn't blocked out, there's nothing that I need to deal with immediately. "We have nothing planned but I don't want to sit on my fat ass alone." isn't a good enough reason for me not to go do something. Short version is, set the expectations ahead of time.

On Sunday I went to work out, after my wife demanded that I not do that. I got series of text messages with things “like not a team player” and “if you don’t want to be here then don’t be,” I was told this was because I spent time with friends, mowed the lawn, and now was going to work out. Your woman is going to act as shitty as you let her act. You may want to figure this bullshit out.

/r/MarriedRedPill11/06/21 01:33 PM

the problem is right now you don't have the experience to ask the right questions. trying to figure out what the right questions are is going to be how you deconstruct your mental model. that's something you'll have to struggle with on your own. what is really important to you vs. what do you think is important to you are things that you have parse out on your own.
/r/MarriedRedPill10/06/21 09:47 AM
2

Trauma Nice. Start with a conclusion and work backwards from it. Changing mental models isn't based on trauma. For you, it might be based on trauma, but that's the road you've decided to choose. It has to do with the 4 stages of competence. Ignorance, idiocy, active, afterthought. You're right though - if this were the first time you've jumped into the sage, this would be a slow episode.
/r/MarriedRedPill10/06/21 09:24 AM
2

Nope. Lift, stfu, sidebar are for building discipline, not frame. The frame comes from the "why". Rule 9 and Rule 10 are more about why and who gets to judge. If you're the sole arbiter of judgment, then you're the solely responsible for deciding what's ridiculous and what isn't.

Just to cut short the conversation, it's not really /u/DirtyNuke's fault that you don't follow the brilliance of his threads. There is so much depth and meaning in the few paragraphs he posts every week. It's fascinating to watch. Not everyone is meant to be meaningfully contemplative, I get that. In practice it’s about building a barrier between us. This would go under rule 9. The reason this is rule 9 is because you're being proactively reactive. You have a frame issue. when I’m angry Anger again is a frame issue, because you feel you have no control and so want to lash out. If you had Bill gates money, would you be angry that you're not getting the time of day? Or would you just buy the place and fire everyone?

Rule 9
/r/MarriedRedPill09/06/21 06:01 AM
2

I keep oscillating between being negative and being positive. I feel so alone. I have no friends. My default thought is that everything is high stakes, that it must be done right. Everything seems overwhelming. I’m always worried about making a mistake. I’m always thinking just keep to yourself, don’t expose any weakness, don’t admit what you want. stfu and lift are the general first steps for a reason. it's simple. it's easy. Rule 9

I know my numbers are still low but I am very happy with the progress I have made here. Why? There's nothing to be proud of really. Great, you're going to the gym. But the numbers themselves - 16 year old girls pull those numbers. You're a 6'3" grown ass man. Rule 9

But, I suspect it's because I'm just afraid of being rejected again or the fear of all the hard work with boundary enforcement I'll have to do. And you don't think your wife recognizes this? What I want it is to truly believe that I am the prize, so that whether it’s my ex or some dime coming after me the response is the same “yea, I’m high value, why wouldnt you be attracted to me?” You don't actually want to believe you're the prize. You want validation that your belief is valid. Very different things. See, I'd like to think I'm pretty good at my job. If I applied for a new job and didn't get the offer, would I be less good at my job? Nope. Whatever company just didn't recognize t…

W&S told me to consider taking a different woman on my anniversary trip. Here's a new thought - why don't you just take me on your vacation? I won't put out, probably, but I'll guarantee you'll have a better time. And think for a second what the fuck that says about your upcoming anniversary vacation if what I just said is in fact true. Why in the fuck would you even want to spend the money on something of that quality?

I look for flights that are best value with some type of theme. I'm not trying to go to Dubuque, Iowa, for example (although I might if the points earning is right). FLL was because my daughter had some friends going, so we'd hang out there. Idaho skiing was because flights were a decent chunk less than usual per person - we got tickets for $173/person - when usual spring break prices are closer to $600 ($800 as I just checked). Flights to Central America have been pretty good recently. If Costa…

Here's what you need to figure out. 1. Monthly income. 2. Monthly expenses. You use 1 and 2 to calculate your monthly net (cash flow). Ideally you've broken this out into categories - so you can figure out where you need to adjust. Any interest that you have to deal with is added straight to monthly expenses. So if you have 5,000 credit card debt at 20% APR, that's $100 added directly to expenses every month. I try to keep my yearly net cashflow to be close to 0. This means that my actual spend …

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. What I realized is I'm looking for a team member who is well aligned with me - as well as risk tolerance. If I'm taking a 10% risk of my net, I'd want a partner who's willing to do that proportionally as well (with a greater net). Maybe if I saw a juicy steak in a restaurant I'd look at it and marvel at how delicious it might be. But I make steak exactly the way I like, on my grill that's been seasoned perfectly, and that's not boring. It is tasty. This is you bullshitting yourself, imo. But keep telling yourself what you need to. No matter how many times or way you cook potatoes, after a year, it's still a starchy vegetable. I just think being married will slow me down from experiences I could be having (travel related) while continuing to work on myself. You have so many limiting beliefs it's crazy. Why does being married stop you from traveling solo? Is it because you're either too stupid or too lazy to figure out how to make it happen? Or is it because you're too much of a pussy to actually do it? Either way, the issue isn't being able to travel solo while married. Prior statement is applicable broadly.

make sure my kids have a leg up when they start their own lives. This isn't because of a pool of money you've set aside. Sure that'll be nice, but this will be because of the opportunities and experience they've had growing up. Camps, activities, ventures, etc. I met a guy in Sydney who paid off his son's $500k house (son had a young family). I asked him why he did that - and his answer struck me as incredibly insightful. "He's my only son. The money will go to him anyway. But it makes a huge im…

Most people put off travel until retirement because they can't swing it currently - because of their job, money, or both. I bet you've got the means to do it all. If you can have your cake and eat it to, why retire early if you're already doing the shit you want to do? Just my 0.02 and something to think about. My daughter's school impacts family travel more than anything else. Although that's just been shuttered. I say this as someone who just flew to Kansas City city today with a 5 year old in…

Your posts are sad. Are you looking for a reason to ditch the wife? Let me break it to you straight - you don't need to have a reason. It's not about her, it's about you. You're lording whatever admission she makes or doesn't make over her head, thinking it empowers you. It doesn't help. And it doesn't solve. You make the choice to get over it, or you don't. But you getting over it or not has absolutely nothing to do with your wife. Trying to act as if it were her looking to you for redemption i…

Listen, if you're going to get fucked as badly as you say you are in divorce., take me up on my offer of personal consulting at $10,000 / month. There are 2 benefits to this: 1) you reduce the amount of capital you have to get fucked by, and 2) I will tell you exactly how you should live your life. Because that's what you're asking for right now isn't it? You're asking us how you should live your life. And if I'm going to take on that level of responsibility, I may as well get paid for it.

But I'm also not. Nothing like I was a decade or a year or even a month ago. If anything, the biggest shit I need to own is how unbearably perfectionistic I've been toward myself, always looking at what I have left to do, never focusing on what I've already done. You must love the "What is your biggest weakness?" question.

Over the past week or 2 while we’ve had sex, I often hear her asking me “Am I beautiful enough for you?”. This is noteworthy because this is what a woman says to a guy when they think he’s a higher SMV than they are. It made me stop and think how far I’ve come over the past 8 or 9 months. Over the past year I’ve lost almost 30 lbs of fat, gained around 18-20 lbs of muscle, and regrew much of my hair by taking finasteride. When I look at holiday pictures from last year, it’s like I’m looking at a…

You reflected some - so I'll give you the answer. The question is, what do I have to lose by doing this? You would be going out of your way to demonstrate how unattractive of a person you are. Attractive men don't clutch onto fake boundaries from months in the past and expect it to have any bearing on the present. If it's a boundary, you deal with it immediately. If you're not dealing with it immediately, it's not a boundary and all you're doing is posturing - which is incredibly transparent. Wh…

A part of me thinks its weak to just tuck it under and put my head in the sand. I have evidence that a boundary was crossed. For me, I need to give her a clear warning shot on what to expect if she ever decides to cross it again. In what world do you live in where you will see a 50% raise in salary every three years? This is why your advice is basic. If you're at $50,000/year and you can't pull off a 50% increases every 3 years for a 10 year span by increasing your skillset, I'm not sure what to tell you. With the right skillsets, this is very doable because 50k per year implies almost very little market demand skills. Combine skills + experience and execution, and the path isn't unreasonable. It might be unreasonable to…

I hate this type of financial advice. This is the blue pill equivalent of financial advice. That subreddit sucks. The reason I hate this advice is because it doesn't focus on the important stuff - which is raising your hourly rate. If you can 5x or 10x your hourly rate in the next 10 years, that $1000 you're stashing away won't matter. The vast majority of compound interest doesn't kick in until you have a substantial chunk of money. (e.g. look at the growth rate over 30 years and when the major…

Find another wife and make another kid when you're done legitimately grieving. They literally just grow. Reality of the world. I watched a deer run away so the mountain lion would eat her newborn baby. This is reality - and she can be cruel. Or you're happily flying along and a random flying object decides to fuck your ability to live. My wife would 100% abort her child if it had a special need and I understand that choice I've had this same conservation and agree.

I didn't say that. Its an honest statement of my finances. Pretty good shape really. CC debt steadily being payed down. Why do I give a fuck about some you being a broke motherfucker? Several friends have recently gotten into FOREX trading but the whole thing sounds like a pyramid scheme to me with rather small returns. You don't understand it, therefore it can't be a you problem, it must be a someone else problem. Instead of educating yourself about how forex works (www.babypips.com), you just dismiss it as a scam. So what about this dichotomy - enjoying life and lifting, yet at one time being eager for death, and comfortable with it now? The one issue, one constant, is always fear. I think you got the difference. It's about generating buy-in versus creating hostility and combative environment. The goal of the game is to play to win so part of that is also setting yourself up not to lose. Some people get it, some people don't. That's okay.

Historical broad market gains are 7% annually over the 10+ year window. Our markets are not at peaks and mortgage rates are incredibly low. If the market doesn't outperform the mortgage rate over the next 15 years, I'm just buying guns and ammo because it means we have much bigger problems. Quoted APR with the PMI is 3.2%.

Going to echo this sentiment. I think I first saw this on twitter. I'm surprised to see it here. This article has literally nothing with you not being allowed to be in a good mood. It's the approach to making disciples I see as the main issue. The MRP parallel is trying to get a wife to love him versus being a guy who's worth loving. At MRP, if your goal is to make your wife love you, you're almost guaranteed to fail. That's why we always suggest having a great live and putting in a conscious effort to invite your wife along. I imagine if the goal is to make disciples, you'd fail in a similar fashion. On the flip side, if you live a life worth following, and reach out wher…

To go to the source of the red pill - even Neo needed to be told by the Oracle, "You're not the one," when we all know he was. It wasn't true. But it was what he needed to hear. "Maybe in another life." At the end of the movie, he was shot, died, and came back to life. The metaphor being the old has to die before you can arise anew.

The irony of the worst of the RPC mouth pieces was that Jesus' mission was internal. When you break 12 on the last set, I'd bet you could do 5x5 @ 155. really that hard to understand that you feel the need to clarify? Or is it that you just have 0 confidence in your ability to understand and interpret? The way I'd expect a normal person to take that comment is :+1:. Try it out, do it, figure out if it worked, and then come back with a "cool. it worked." or "that didn't work. dude's an idiot." Not "idk what amrap…

The part I hate about this open communication is instead of me felling something, processing it and moving on it encourages me to dwell on it, to ponder it, to consider the alternative viewpoints and assure her that she's still a good person and none of it is her fault and ... Solution to this is making it clear that she only gets access if she can handle it.
/r/MarriedRedPill06/03/20 05:28 PM

Probably simpler than this treatise is the fact that most men (and people in general) don't know how to communicate effectively. Neither of you defined communication. While you implied it with your signals, neither of you explicitly pointed out that the vast majority of mouth sounds don't matter. Does communication work? Absolutely. Do most people know how to communicate? I'd argue not. Maxing dominance and alpha is. Meh.

To be fair, she doesn't put in effort because you've taught her she doesn't need to. You chose your wife. It's up to you whether you go and set the expectations. It's up to you whether you give her time to deliver on them. It will be an explicit renegotiation of expectations, with you giving her the choice of if she wants to choose to meet them or not. She'll probably fail at first, and recognize it'll be your fault.

Undermining like this in front of the kids has happened before where I put my foot down but the wife will ignore that and do as she wants. this is a boundary (undermining me in front of kids) that I don't want to tolerate You tolerated the boundary violation just fine. I would suggest not being an autistic fuck and stomping your feet even more ineffectively. This is super petty and I cannot beleive I've been living with someone so petty. Really? My friend and his wife are "taking a break." Something she basically forced on him against his will. Their therapist has been pushing for it for awhile. I'm trying to do my best to keep a solid boundary in place and not tell him how to live his life. I've offered some guidance before and I'll do the same if he needs it but for now I'm trying not to get sucked into the shit of it. Recognizing that we fuck up isn't self compassion, it's being human. Telling yourself it's okay to continually be a fuck up isn't self-compassion, it's bullshit. Self improvement is bullshit. If you need someone to tell you it's okay to make progress one step at a time, I don't know what to tell you. This post fails rule 0.
/r/MarriedRedPill01/01/20 06:49 PM

Not okay to just be "self-compassionate". If you aren't expecting better from yourself, get fucked.

Educating kids is hard. "Here is how I will help you. I will tell you what you need to do and you will do then. If you don't do them, that's on you, but you won't get any more help. You definitely won't get handouts." I might offer to manage the money for a 10% fee with final say on shit he can or can't spend money on. "Cheaper than overdraft fees."

Start instead by focusing on your mission, your mindset, and how you attack the world. lol. shit advice not because it's wrong, but because it's not useful. new guys have no idea what this even means. you may as well tell him to just be himself.

whomever else decides to cross paths with him at the same time. Apparently not. The fact that he can't win friends and influence people means he's shit at being attractive. He doesn't understand the laws of power. And from the sounds of it, he's not self validated either. You make him seem like he's just a combative douche. , it hasn't been medically diagnosed, mainly because he can't afford to see anyone about it right now. He's focused on finding a job that has good benefits so he can go back …

ometimes I think I’m not going to ever get what I want in this relationship again. Other times I think I’m a giant loser and deserve exactly what I’m getting. Why not both? She's been condition for many years she doesnt have to win your attention or compete for you. What reason have you given her for her to try?

One concern is that the more frequent sex is an elaborate charade so I can get her pregnant and that my wife will get complacent again with pleasing me sexually after we've had another baby. Could be. But you control how often you have sex. She controls how often you have sex with her. When you get there mentally, you're gonna walk around and she's going to know she needs to adding value to keep you around. The marriage will continue to adapt accordingly, or I'll grow beyond it. exactly right so…

Fuck. I've tried writing this 3 times. It's gotten wiped 3 times. Let's put it this way -- life is easy as fuck. Figure out how to make that shit easy for you. Want to fuck bitches? Let's go fuck bitches! Update: you guys ever want to practice frame? drive around on a moped in southeast asia. there are no rules and the entire situation is organized chaos. the rules are this -- you're responsible for not hitting the person in front of you, and other people are responsible for not hitting you. if …

I was fully aware of my potential anger and emotions and kept them in check. You know why people get angry? Unmet expectations from outside sources. What are your unmet expectations? And then work on understanding why it's bullshit that you have them and what you're going to do about it.

I'm gonna stop you right here. If every week, you're gonna post how much of a weak faggot you are -- there's no point in having you around. Zero progress this week. If you can't do the basics, go fuck yourself with a cactus. A panic attack led to a 3-day depression spiral and it all went to shit I don't give a shit about your reasons. Doesn't change the end result which is you suck and failed.
/r/MarriedRedPill24/12/19 02:18 PM

damn you guys are needy. i'm just trying to fly over to asia and drink for the rest of the year. we'll get to it when we get to it. it's on you guys to not engage with content you don't think is valuable

I really want right now is an ounce of respect at home Be a person who respect themselves, and you'll eventually learn to kick out people who suck. to get my dick wet once in a while to take the edge off. $200. Or did you want to imply "with my wife"? There are a lot of options out there. If you're not attractive enough to get them, that's on you. When you're attractive enough to get them that's on her. Tbh, as sad as it sounds, I feel lonely as fuck right now and OYS really helps with perspecti…
