That was a nice read. You are on the right path, and I like the mental status you are and the work and effort you have put in. Thank you for sharing, and enjoy being the captain of your life. I wish you the best for the future.
Still, that is kind of normal, isn't it? Or is the normal thing to have ruined your life and yourself already before having kids or marrying? At this point, nexting puts you in ground zero for rebuilding yourself with no fucking consequences. Is red pill in easy mode. Which many fail, I will give you that, but alas, let me come to the point...
I am not going to suck your dick for your post because somehow you built your story around giving an authority recommendation (because "you get it"), and this recommendation is bullshit. I have read here similar words from wiser men, but as always, the devil is in the details. They were right and you are not.
For any of the new guys on this sub, or maybe someone passing by that comes here once in a blue moon “thinking” about making a post (i.e. asking some repetitive question). Stop that thought and delete what you are about to submit. Hit the sidebar, lift, read, and live your life. Come back a year later and share your progress with the rest of us here. I hate to quote Richard Cooper, but… Do. The. Work.
You are telling people who is having a hard time because of their bad decisions and mental schemas to retreat into their mind and rewrite their mental models by themselves and "come back in a year". And then some of these morons will follow your advice, eat a lot of paint, half ass their gym workouts while being satisfied with their mirror (did I read your lifts?), read some advanced material in the sidebar (because why reading the basics? they are smart and AWALT is the problem), and will go rambo or monk or worse, while being "alpha as fuck" and "so red pilled I shit bricks that could be used to build a red wall around faggottown" and spitting RP jargon like a machinegun. I know what I am talking about. I have been there, eating paint as if it was beer, and have made most of the mistakes you read on this sub. Btw, I had a read of /r/askTRP these days and man, there is some circlejerk going on there. But I disgress again...
I was about to write you have "survivor bias": you did it right, you are proud of the results you have, and think that the only thing that people need to do is to STFU and follow your lead. But I don't think you have survivor bias. You have your shit together at age 31, girlfriend, home, career, friends, etc. Cool, good for you, I wish you the best and carry on the good work, bro hug. Not being ironic, I mean that. But you are at the beginning of your adult life.
Many of the guys here started like you, and at some point they lost the way and fell into the lazyness, betaness, whatever you may name it. You have the lead over them/us because you have learnt and embraced "fight club" before life throws any real punch at you. Use it wisely. I invite you to come back and help some guy instead of saying your farewell in the first post.
Stay strong.

Fuck me - there's like a million RP buzzwords in this post and at the end of it I have no fucking idea of who you are, where you're at or where you want to be.
I don't think you do either.
You just blinded the sub with jargon, all split up into lovely little headlined paragraphs .. none of which means anything. It reads like a diary entry of 'how I convinced myself in my mind that RP has changed my life"
I'm not buying it.
How about you just post some real fucking details instead of this posing fucking nonsense that proclaims "I've come full circle" bollox?
It's fucking chin stroking, cock rubbing wankerisms .
As for some of the replies here.. fuck me.. yeah.. what's next - we all form a fucking daisy chain and start sucking each others dicks?
Fuck me - I thought this sub was better than that.

So basically, what you are saying is "don't think like yourself, think like me".
Why don't you climb out of my ear and crawl back up your own arse.

This was good, but I’d like to see it with 3 kids and a wife and staring down the barrel of a few hundred grand of alimony! Easy mode.

If this is real, and your path was so smooth then I wish you the best of luck keeping it this way. The whole thing however read as if it was an infomercial selling a simple 12 step plan to success all you needed was some stock imagery of smiling diverse happy people and a PC compliant mission statement to go to market.
Good on you. You started from a good place and made your life slightly better. Congrats. I would suggest that if you started this after 20 years of marriage, a few kids and a career built upon 'supporting the family'.
RP rule of thumb indicates 1 month per year of the relationship. Your relationship was 1 year and 7 months old, so lets round that up to 2 months to be nice. Compare that to Mr 20 year in the paragraph above at 2 years. You managed your conversion in a year. For comparison, so, roughly half the time you were in a relationship. Thats the equivalent of a 20 year marriage guy taking 10 years.
I don't know, the whole thing seemed like fiction wrapped with a bow.
When I come here, I come to read about the -mistakes- made by others so I can avoid them. Your post seems like you have read a lot of RP, but I didn't see much of the books you read in your writing.
[–]weakandsensitive1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago* (2 children) | Copy Link
Why do you think this should be harder?
Why do you think there should be many books?
[–]Octellius1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
"Why do you think this should be harder?"
By 'this' I'm going to assume you mean MRP. So, I don't think MRP 'should' be harder, I have experienced that it just is. Changing mental models, rebuilding physicality, reestablishing social networks, learning how to guide a teenage boy so that he doesn't turn in to what I was. Trying to work out what being a Rp fatgher even means when you have a daughter. Having the mental focus to keep all this on track and optimised and progressing at a speed that is 'about right'. (About right means trying not to rambo the whole thing in to tiny time frame).
The Author started from a position that was almost as good as it gets, then used every tool in the box to squeeze out the final 5%. Then comes here to post his victory speech. Most guys landing here are not starting 1.5 years in to a relationship with no kids and a mostly accomodating woman who livs in -his- house and can get kicked out at any second. Most guys will be starting in a state of perpetual 'almost divorce', negotiating trench warfare, DB and trying to work out if the juice is worth the squeeze while considering the financial cost of separation, affect of kids and trying to work out if the wife is likley to follow or not. Stay\Go Plan has a bit more weight to it when there are other lives in the mix and list of assets sales and company\trust closures that'll result in a split.
So, my :| is my dissatisfaction with someone taking MRP from 90 to 95%, taking almost as long as he was even together to do it, then wrapping it up like in a way that suggests that this is a textbook example of what success looks like. Look more carefully, he was only with her for 8 months before inviting her to sleep over, he owns the property, they are not married. No risk. What can even go wrong here?
If I wrote up an MRP story as a pure fiction I would at least write up more problems than this. How about some really simple problems like, you were listening to "No More Mr Nice Guy" 2 weeks in on your phone from audible and got in to your bluetooth car and it starts auto playing with your wife and kids looking at the screen display. "What does this mean? Does this mean you going to be an asshole all the time now?" "Yeah Dad, because it's been working.<lol>"... don't DEER remember. THAT sounds like a real story right? :), because it really happened.
The guy had an easy run because the worst thing that could go wrong is that she had a meltdown and moves out. No home loss, no teen about to sit their finals assesments or whatever.
" Why do you think there should be many books? "
I think you misunderstood my point. The Author wrapped up each paragraph with a book he 'read'. The content however didn't really indicate there was anything actionable that he learnt or applied. The book list looks like it was just tacked on for completness. MRP kinda demands people read the sidebar before youeven get to speak, so... tick!. He did at least mention some books that were not on the sidebar so it didn't look like like a cut\paste.
I'm ok with everyone disagreeing with me here. But if the Author had run 52 weeks of OYS's with the cadence above people would have been wondering whats taking him so long.
[–]weakandsensitive1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
So the short version is that you think this is fiction because you don't relate?
That's the whole point of owning your shit so you're actually empowered to make the difficult decisions you need to without resorting to excuses. "this guy had it easy wah wah wah". How is it his fault that you're too much of a pussy to make a choice and execute on it? And notice how I don't say shit about what choice you should make.
Some guys get it, while others don't. You make your choice and you deal with consequences. It's that's fucking simple.
But nah - the biggest man babies of the world will always have some reason or other they simply can't. Those types of people, of which you are one, can go and get fucked. Those guys are not MRP's target audience.

What were you hoping to get out of making this post? Are you just emoting? On your period?
[–]Octellius0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
I took the conversation with weakandsensitive offline as I decided that continuing the conversation above was not beneficial.
My overall point is that I think this is a fabrication. A single post, single use burner account, with no involvement after post, seemingly no involvement with MRP such as OYS, even though he called himself OYS man and uses in-group terminology. Simple problems with nice clean solutions. The storyline is nice and linear, loaded with 100% of what you want to hear. As mentioned to W&S in my DM, whenever I see a case of someone saying all the right things and using all the right words it says to me that the person is trying hard to win me over.
If the group wants to use this as a reference example I'm not going to say a further word, but I stand by my assessment.
[–]SorcererKingMRP SAGE - MRP MODERATOR0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Yes, I understand your assessment. What I'm asking is: what did you think you would get out of posting your assessment?
[–]Octellius0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I had to read you posting history to work out what you were looking for in an answer. It could have been either you wanting to make a point that what I wrote was pointless in my own improvement and a waste of time writing and yours for reading it(true), or deeper, that you wanted to see if I would admit to possibly looking for validation from the group, even inverse validation by me having to defend my position(possibly true) or whether I would consider jealousy of someone elses success as a reason for posting a rebuke(hmmm).
Based on your posting history I'll go with you were asking me to try harder and be more honest with myself. Well played. It took me the whole day to work it out. I didn't provide an answer here, but you can consider your question a success if introspection was the goal.

Good man.
Yeah, RC has good content.
You also discovered the power of dread with Linsey. Your wife feelz more attraction to you now knowing other women want to fuck you. Well played.
MCT advice:
1) Stop talking about fight club to your bros with all the damn book recommendations. I know you feelz bad for them, but they need to be in the lowest of the lowest to find fight club. It’s easy to find. Don’t hand it to them and ‘ Captain save a bro. Fn stop it.
2) “A couple of days there was some tension of being locked up together”
You have come full circle and made awesome progress in your mindset and outlook on life. Yes, a new awakening. That’s great.
Just with comment above though, I suggest really learning Game skills so you don’t get in these tense situations. It doesn’t need to be like that. How’s that coming along ? Which books have you read? Who are you listening to?
We each have our own unique style, You must find your natural swing for yourself. This is a tool box, like chess - you don’t need all the pieces to win. Just find your own combination that works. I’m a big proponent of Game tactics. It’s like cap nip for her. Mine sings, chirps, dances around the house all day like a little bird.
Abundance, DGAF, frame, and Mindsets are key - that’s like your overall strategy in chess. But Game, that’s the chess tactics - the individual moves to make the strategy come to life.
Take it or leave it faggot.

Nice work and congratulations to you.
You've demonstrated that you don't need to journal every week in OYS so long as you have your own goals and can hold yourself to account.
Holding frame
hate this phrase. hate how misused it is. it's not a door. it doesn't magically swing open and shut. it's the frame. it exists or it doesn't. your have it or you don't.

I liked your story, good job on figuring all this shit out now before getting married.
She told me that she was cleaning the place yesterday and she saw something on my desk. She pulled out a piece of paper and opened it. Well, it was the piece of paper with “Lindsey’s” phone number and signature.
Hot damn... You know she spent that whole week stalking that girls social media. Especially since it had her full name on there. Fucking lol the hamster
I was surprised with head as soon I got to bed, followed by wild monkey sex hanging from the chandelier. Wait, what…?
Hamster overdrive of preselection.
[–]InChargeManMRP APPROVED16 points17 points18 points 6 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link
Why did he have this chick's number on his desk three months after he got it? We can all pretend it was for no particular reason, and he forgot about it, etc, etc. But let's not jerk each-other off and address the reality, OP intentionally kept and left it around hoping to instill dread. Post is fine, he's doing well, but the sooner we are honest with ourselves the better.

[–]mitch2you8014 points15 points16 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
That’s not even cynical. Shows huge gaps in his frame. If he had abundance mindset but no interest he would have tossed the number on his way out. If he was interested, he would have done something in that 3 months. Dude was saving the little slip of affirmation for rainy days when mommy wasn’t giving him enough attention.

Yep
[–]Vegasman20002Grinding0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
Why is this a bad thing? I agree it was on purpose but why is this any different than "flirting with waitresses" or the other alleged dread-inducing strategies?
FWIW I don't think any active strategy to induce dread is a good thing, you cannot make it happen, you just get better and it happens or it doesn't. So is that the answer?
[–]mitch2you802 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
You answered your question by your second paragraph. Flirting with a waitress because you want to and it's fun. Good. Flirting with a waitress because you're trying to "show" you're valuable usually turns out laughably transparent and actually signals low value.
[–]InChargeManMRP APPROVED0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Yes, it is all about frame. Who's head are you in. When do you X to elicit the response Y from your wife you are in her head, doing the dancing monkey routine. Just do X because that is what the person you want to be does. It isn't about what you do, it is the why.
Frame. You can only be in one person's frame at a time. "Look mommy, I'm a big boy now!" If their is one thing women are dangerously well adapted to do, it is to see through a facade. That is why a great starting point is STFU. It may not be suave, it may not be exciting, but it is at least honest and within your frame. Would you rather a real sapling or a paper-mache oak tree? A real sapling can grow to something great.

Thank you for this post. I just started into NMMNG at the start of May, since then I have finished that and read MAP and MMSLP, working on WISNIFG and Models. I started working out and dieting, already down to 265 lbs from 295 lbs. I've started to make myself "my own mental point of origin" and started to "mentally divorce" my wife to quote Rollo Tomassi. (his books are on my reading list) I have reconnected with some close friends, and joined my local toastmaster club.
My biggest issue; I want things to change now and seeing this post really helps understand there is a process here, change is not overnight. I need to keep working and reinforcing these lessons and working on myself and my frame. There may be other lessons that I still need to learn that I have not even become aware of yet.
Seeing the timeline in your post was very helpful for me, it reminds me that I have only just started and that I have to be patient and keep putting in the work.

Wrong. Just over a year ago when everything from the outside seemed to be going great for me, it hit me that things were not on point. I was bullshitting myself (AKA no mission).
Can you elaborate, what actual event caused you realize this?

Out of all the acronyms, the one I didn't get was WISNIFG? What does this mean?
