But after decades of browbeating the American male, men are tired. Tired of being told there’s something fundamentally wrong with them. Tired of being told that if women aren’t happy, it’s men’s fault.

While this statement I can agree with, the rest of the article seems to be advocating a shift back to the 50s where the assumption is every woman should be happy with popping out babies while her man goes to work so he can buy her little trinkets.

Men aren't turning away from marriage because "women aren't women". They are turning away from marriage because marriage laws haven't changed with society. They are so stacked against men because they still assume marriages work like they did in the 50s, where divorced women actually had a hard time recovering because of her limited options of independence. Times have changed, women now have just as many options for independence as men, it's time to stop allowing these laws to act as a weapon of opportunity for unhappy wives against the husbands they resent.

To say gender relations have changed dramatically is an understatement. Ever since the sexual revolution, there has been a profound overhaul in the way men and women interact. Men haven’t changed much – they had no revolution that demanded it – but women have changed dramatically.

Hey... It's not like we haven't been trying to start it. It's just that we're silenced constantly.

It seems that women want a release from their traditional roles while still expecting men to be confined to theirs. "Equality when it benefits me" is a disgusting way to live your life.

39 male here. I'm in the dating pool and it doesn't seem like any women want to get married or even make an effort at starting a relationship. I guess they're waiting for the right type of guy to change their mind, and that's not me. Too bad because from what I hear them complain about, all the good ones are taken and there are many creeps and crazies out there. Oh well, I keep enjoying the single life as I watch them grow old and alone as they wait for their perfect guy.

I don't really get many benefits for being married, if I do it's purely to make my partner happy. If it goes wrong, I get fucked. So.. why take the risk?

I think the statistic is interesting.

But the analysis of the article seems pretty flawed.

I wouldn't care if my wife wanted to work and help with the finances. In fact, I'd prefer that.

This suggests that this is a possibility for all men or even most men. However, I think there's a large sect of men who are left out in the cold in today's mating rituals. They may not be the charismatic types who can drop panties just by saying hello, but they would make good family men. Yet they are no longer needed or desired. Women now have jobs, but they still desire a man who can entertain them.
