What's the best way someone can do actual activism for Men's Rights?

I know I've influenced quite a few people simply by interjecting whenever I hear gender issues arise in conversation. Try not to be rude or condescending about it, but referral to statistics or websites will usually generate enough curiosity that people will check it out.

Start a men's rights group in your community. Bring up men's rights on a regular (but hopefully not obnoxious) basis. Start a foundation that raises money towards important male issues. Write articles. Teach children about the problems men face and how to act more like equals.

Anything to help achieve Ectogenesis

Anything to give men on demand contraceptives

Anything that gives us an avenue to protect our wealth from marauding mommies.

Just be really informed and a great advocate. If you have the facts behind you and argue calmly you can change minds.

I try to raise awareness, correct misconceptions, and I interject respectfully when I hear gender issues being discussed.

Also, I'm usually clean shaven so my not shaving occasionally offers a segueway into talking aboot prostate cancer.

Take part in events like Movember. Don't just grow a mustache and donate, but take it up a level. Organize an office-wide Mustache competition, $10 to enter, all proceeds go to the Movember site. This way everyone gets educated about it and you donate a little money to boot. I did this within an organization I belong to and this year I hope to raise a few hundred dollars.
One of the most in-need groups of men are veterans. Get involved with a charity like the Wounded Warrior Project or Voice of Warriors. Volunteer to help vets out, drive them to appointments, give them a couch to sleep on, talk to them, that sort of thing. I build websites for a living and I did a little bit of free photoshop work for them this year.
Contribute to organizations like The Innocence Project. Most prisoners are men. If you are a lawyer or legal aid, they could probably use your help. I don't really have any experience with them but they have done some amazing things and have saved the lives of some men that would otherwise be stuck for life.
Get involved in a boy's youth group, like a community soccer, baseball, football, Boy Scouts, or a group within your church. These groups are one of the few places that young boys are likely to interact with positive male role models, because chances are there aren't any for them at school. I was a boy scout myself, and as an adult I volunteer with a youth group for high school aged boys.
Join an organization that helps men. Organizations like Fraternities or the Masons have the resources to donate serious money to causes for men. You can join one, take a leadership role, then steer funding and community service hours towards things that help men primarily. These organizations can do a LOT of things, like set up private scholarship funds for men exclusively. I belong to three such groups personally. I have gone to visit brothers in the nursing homes that were dying and had no living relatives or friends really. It is such a simple thing to sit and talk with a brother for a little while and they will appreciate it.

The problem is that doing something of value is hard and takes a lot of work. Many, many people are not willing to put in that work. If you are, all it takes is some time with Google and elbow grease.

The biggest issue we have right now, in my opinion, is acceptance into mainstream.

The best thing you can do, therefore, is to discuss men's rights issues with people in a way that makes them interested in learning more - rather than in a way that turns people off (ie: talking about violence).

Posters and Facebook "debating" only goes so far, I think just talking with your friends and being level-headed about the issues is most effective. Don't sweat the small stuff or try to make everything out to be a war on men.

An easy and effective action is to write to your local newspaper. Many widely read papers publish a high proportion of what they receive and your chances are improved if you write short, sharp and to-the-point letters that need little correction from their staff. Include your contact details so that they can confirm you are the author of the letter.

Complain to advertising standards authorities about offensive adverts.

Refuse to to business with traders who discriminate against men and tell them why.

Talk to other people. Listen to what they have to say and then give them facts that help your case. It is surprisingly easy for people to drop the pro-feminist prejudices they may have when you bring up serious issues of discrimination against men.

Run for office. Not my idea. Several years ago Warren Farrell ran for Governor of California on a male positive platform. Get rich. My idea. Nobody pays any attention. Most people think they can't get rich. Hogwash. One wealthy MRA can do more for the movement than 1,000 poor MRAs.
