Yes. I've been told by a professor before that slavery represents the masculine method of control, one that women are completely incapable of. Therefore if the patriarchy does not exist, slavery would not either. Other things I have observed feminists (in RL or online) blame ~~all men~~ the patriarchy for:

The failure of capitalism

The failure of communism

homophobia, transphobia, gasp FATPHOBIA

pretty much every crime ever committed by either gender

global warming (had a post about this once), as well as all other environmental degredation

Any problem men ever face

The slow time for a pizza delivery service (this happened in the eighth grade)

Shallow plots in books, comics, video games, etc.

Animal mistreatment

Andy Warhol getting shot

And lastly female heterosexuality

So no, it's not exactly surprising that feminists would blame racism and slavery on patriarchy. These are all things I have observed in real life or read on a mainstream feminist website.

Fundamental truth of feminism is that everything is men's fault, so yes, racism and slavery are men's fault. Hurricane Sandy was probably men's fault too. And by "men" I mean men alive today are at fault for things that happened before they were born.

Racsm has been around for generations, way before Patriarchy became the catch all term, plus slavery was for men and women so Patriarchy isn't even valid for that particular time

Patriarchy wasn't even valid as anything till the 90s.

Yawn. Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Susan B. Anthony were rabid racists. Margaret Sanger was a rabid racist and a eugenicist. For every man that has every achieved anything on the backs of others there has been a woman behind him cunningly reaping the same benefits while avoiding doing the dirty work herself (and avoiding the early heart attack doing the dirty work often entails).
