Really, who the fuck thinks its a good idea to light themselves on fire? Its one thing to yell rape and get shit tonnes of money or whatever reason, (I do not condone false accusations) but lighting yourself on fire without giving any reason afterwards?

This seems to be the new activism to inspire hatred against any group.

The woman is washington state who threw acid on her own face and claimed it was racial. The lesbian who wrote dyke on her dorm room door and claimed antigay something or another. The Jewish kid who stapled his own lips and claimed an anti semitic gang attacked him.

These people are more dangerous and hateful than every so called hate group they claim are hate groups. WTF?

Wasn't surprised to see this update on the story. It seemed pretty fishy when I read the original story this morning.

Get well soon. Self-inflicted or not, I wouldn't wish burns of any degree on anyone.

edit - And to be clear, while I hope for a speedy recovery, I believe she should face jail time.

The sick thing is, it basically worked. She got the news to immediatly report [http://www.nydailynews.com/news/crime/la-woman-set-fire-hate-crime-article-1.1189946?localLinksEnabled=false]("woman set on fire by KKK"). How many people out there must have read that article, but missed the ones saying that her claim was false?

There are times, like when I read this article, when I nearly give in to despair. Sometimes, I begin to feel that no matter what I do, men (and white men in particular) will be made out to be the bad guys no matter what we do. So, when despair grips me, I say to myself "Why not be bad ? Why not do the cruel, evil things that society accuses me of ?" ... at least then there would be some truth to these types of bullsh!t accusations. But I have not yet given in these feelings of despair ... there is always something that pulls me back from acting upon these feelings ... and that my be the one thing that I most appreciate in my wife. She gives me the strength to carry on despite the insanity around me. I do dearly love her for that.

But it does seem that articles like this one are appearing with increasing regularity. Does anyone else feel that way, too ?
