I'll do my best to make this short but I dont think its going to happen lol.

So yesterday I got onto the topic of men's rights activism with a guy and he asked why as a woman, I leaned towards it. I browse this sub a lot but I'm not too educated on this topic so I just told him the basic points, like child support, custody, rape accusations, domestic violence, just all of that general stuff and he didn't know about most of it. Well, his response to what I said was "women have it/had it worse." And I told him that it wasn't a male issues vs female issues thing. There are female issues but the point is people know about them, they are being discussed and things are being done about them, while little is being done about male issues and you as a man didn't even know about most of them. And his lovely response to that was "oh well, female issues are more important and are talked about more, life's a bitch like that." When I told him that any of the things I mentioned could easily happen to him, he said "well i hope they don't happen" and then he went on to say "well i won't get raped by a woman, and if a woman I'm with ever puts her hands on me I'll just leave the relationship, and if a woman says she doesn't wan't to have sex or wants to stop, I'll listen."

It just made my blood boil how ignorant he was being and as much as this seems like a rant, I actually do want to get through to this guy but he's completely disregarding all of the issues. I feel like him falling victim to these issues and having them affect him personally is the only way that he will ever see that they really do exist and things need to be done about it. So how would any of you deal with this?
