Usually I am big hater of the "this isn't a men's rights issue" type comments. They're very annoying and they're usually wrong. But I am gonna have to express that opinion for the first time.

Yes, they're unequal tasks, but in sports I think that's okay. In becoming a firefighter, police officer, or soldier, or something like that, absolutely not okay. But this is different. They're not gaining an unfair advantage, nobody's safety is depending on them performing at a certain level, and I don't see any negative effects.

Do you want women to be unable to play sports because too few can meet the same physical demands as men? The men's hurdles height of 42 inches is not arbitrary. It is based on what these men can do. The women's hurdles should also be based on what women can do.

Unless there is some sort of double standard you were pointing out that I am missing.

Yes, and the javelin weighs less and is smaller for women, the shot is lighter, the short hurdle event is shorter for women than for men (100mH W; 110mH M), etc... so what?

It's been the same way in the US military for years. Women have much easier PT standards than men. You want to be equal? Meet the same physical training standards.

Er..aren't male runners generally significantly taller than their female counterparts?
I'm really not seeing why this is an issue, since the men and women aren't competing directly against each other.

Women and men don't compete against each other, so what does it matter? Standards only have to be the same amongst competitors whose achievements will be measured against each other.

This is totally what the MRM should focus on. It makes the movement seem so serious.
