I can't find any sources that (more than weakly) indicate a quota is to be imposed. The best I found were this small news blurb that briefly summarized the events, an official White House posting in the traditional style of self-praise, and an op-ed by Obama of a similar style. Sites like Moonbattery detail the arguments that a quota may be coming a bit more strongly, but it seems like speculation and exaggeration to me based on what they say.

It does mention,

These guidelines will likely echo existing Title IX guidelines that restrict men's percentage of intercollegiate athletes

but when I try to search for anything about Title IX restricting participation based on percentages, all I find is that a lot of news sources have used that quote verbatim. What I want to find out is if that is actually happening and, if so, how it is happening.

Can anyone point me towards some sources that will help? Restricting access as implicated is terrible, but I'm having trouble finding solid material about it.

Ok lets back up.

Title IX goes like this:

"No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance"

Yet Obama is excluding X number of people from participating in education because they are male. And he's using Title IX to do it.

The reason why women aren't majoring in these programs, is they're choosing to major in subjects like the humanities instead. These women are exercising their freedom to choose what they want to be educated in, and as a result, there are less women majoring in math and science.

But no feminist would ever admit that. And as a result, there will still be a significantly low amount of women majoring in these fields.

So this is the "equality" they keep talking about? They are the majority of university, and now they will limit men's participation to ensure that women are the majority in every major. That has to be unconstitutional. I don't want my tax dollars paying for government sanctioned bigotry.

I am fine with this as long as they limit the number of women that can take gender classes. You know to encourage the other sex to take it too! They have to limit the amount of women allowed to take any female dominated classes really to make this fair.

If this is pushed, is it time for young men to start suing for discrimination in all the other fields where they're now behind? The Obama administration seems to be opening itself up to suits from men for discrimination in education based on 60% enrollment of women. Being that STEM fields only make up a measly 10% of all majors.

Male nursing student here.. The Universities and profession is all for more Male Nurses..it is a highly in demand occupation for men. Current statistics has it to be around 92% female 8% male in Canada. the CNA's goal is to have 20% male by 2020. I am ok with this because it means i will have a job.

The government is closing off the last avenue of happiness for me. All so that women dont feel stupid.

I wanted to get married, and the government started paying women to get divorced. So much for that.

I wanted children, and the government made sure that when my wife divorces me, I lose all meaningful role in raising them. So much for that.

Alright, I told myself, Ill become a kick-ass science teacher and help lots of kids! Then the Stranger-Danger culture arose, and now teaching is a very, very dangerous profession for men who don't want to go to jail. So much for that.

Well, I told myself, maybe i can finish my phD and start my bio lab back up! And now the government wants to take this one. Last. Hope from me... SO MUCH FOR THAT!

When will people understand that when it comes to education, there should be no boxes on the enrollment form for gender, race, etc.? These are things that have nothing to do with sitting in a chair and hearing a lecture.

It seems like every week there is a post here about the Obama administrations attack on men. Yet, an amazingly high number of leftist here in the sub see no correlation between leftism and the oppression of men. How much more clear could it possibly be?
