It's most likely fake, as was reasoned in the last threads on this already. For example, he claims that he never saw his parents again and yet, he sees them right after he gets out.

I'm reading through that thread, and all they can point to are a few inconstancies to prove it's fake. Many could be argued away. What I mean is that it could be true. He says he never sees his parents again, but he does physically see them after getting out. They immediately tell him to get a motel, so maybe he didn't consider it visiting with them, or "seeing" them, even though he saw them with his eyes.
Regardless, it was an interesting read. And like many pointed out in that thread you linked to, a very realistic account of prison life.

I read through the metafilter post too. Man, they have a lot of reasons to consider it fake. I didn't want to discredit it just because the circumstances seemed unlikely. OP used a lot of UK-style spellings, in fact, there is a lot of evidence that the OP was a european. The bit about crushing up the pill and putting it into his leg (does that even work? what a waste of a crushed up pill...) was pointed out to be from a book someone read.

The MetaFilter thread was awful. Most of those people were completely talking out of their asses. "Unlike most other drugs that lower your inhibitions, with MDMA you're still you, just high." Apart from meaning absolutely nothing, the point that he tried and failed to make is still wrong. Get a roll going on Molly--or a brand with a good dose of uppers in the mix--and get a foot rub from a nice thin boy with soft lips, and then tell me that ecstasy won't lubricate some preference-bending.

based off these statistics, in 2009 alone, there were 3 deaths in Minnesota jails, and 12 deaths in state prisons. Minnesota reported a total of 111 prison deaths between the years 2001-2009. This is damning. I don't believe OP could have witnessed as many deaths as he said he did, considering the state he said he was in.

edit: So, Michigan had 20 jail deaths in 2009, 148 state prison deaths in 2009, and 1,134 total deaths between 2001-2009. Every year, roughly 80 different jail jurisdictions report at least one death, which makes it unlikely that 33 deaths happened in one jail, within an 18-month time period.
Still seems far-fetched, not damning, but still far-fetched.

No, but this isn't 1984 either. Most deaths are accounted for. It's America, not North Korea. We incarcerate people openly. Prisoners are killed for being unruly regularly. There's no reason to hide it. There's no conspiracy here; prisoners lose their rights when they go to prison. They lose their humanity. It's no surprise that deaths happen, and there likely isn't any reason to cover them up. That's the saddest part, that prisoners are likely to go crazy and snap. It takes excessive force to subdue them, and it isn't unlikely that they sustain severe injuries from these scuffles. They don't care. Nobody cares. Every death is probably reported, the prisoner is deemed insane, and nobody fucking cares.

I'm not fucking dumb enough to get a gun and rob a store. If you're that insane, to threaten someone with a weapon, then you need to be locked up. Now what do you expect to happen to someone who is already at this breaking point? They won't find peace in jail, they will find frustration. Prison is the last place for these people. They need daycare. They fucking need to fingerpaint. If they're criminally insane then they should never be let out. If they are violent, then they're too threatening to be released.
Prison sucks. So does being the victim of an armed robbery. I know who I have more sympathy for.

I disagree. In America, incarceration is a huge problem, and it's mostly a male problem. It's probably the biggest source of human rights violations American men face. I think anything prison-related belongs in a men's rights discussion, in the same way that I think anything related to homelessness or military casualties is a men's rights issue.

No way to tell if this is real or not. Wouldn't want any first hand experience, though.
The story itself may not have a direct tie to men's rights, and I certainly don't have any sympathy for the person who (may or may not have) went through this due to his armed robbery. However, as Brian Banks proved just in the last few weeks, you as a man don't actually have to do anything in order to wind up in prison yourself.

I think it is a common misconception that rust causes tetanus and therefore the story is made up by someone who never had tetanus, and who simply thinks that they know what tetanus is caused by.

That's a good point. I suppose it's possible to get tetanus from a rusty needle, but it's unlikely that the tetanus bacteria is even there in the first place. Rusty metal is a great place for the bacteria to survive, but it has to get there first. I didn't know much about tetanus so I looked it up on wikipedia. The 'Cause' section elaborates:
It is caused by the tetanus bacterium Clostridium tetani. Tetanus is often associated with rust, especially rusty nails, but this concept is somewhat misleading. Objects that accumulate rust are often found outdoors, or in places that harbor anaerobic bacteria, but the rust itself does not cause tetanus nor does it contain more C. tetani bacteria.
