The men's rights movement should focus on tangible changes we can actualise- anti-circumcision laws, anti-discrimination laws, changes in the family law system- not wasting time and energy trying to address the unaddressable. Whilst yes, false-rape accusations are bad, we should only spend time trying to help those who are actually suffering for it, not stories online.

Please Reddit, I need some advice. I know this is going to sound like I'm lying but please listen.

I've known this girl for a little more than 2 months after she was introduced to me by her brother, who is a good friend of mine. We talked and hung out but only recently started dating a week ago. Throughout the time I've known her she seemed fairly normal. She had a few quirks but nothing that would indicate something as terrible as what had happened... Honestly, the only hint I had received she was capable of such an act was when she had told me she was into bondage the day before the incident. I thought that was a little weird but didn't make much of it.

Last night, after I had gotten out of work, I picked her up and brought her back to my apartment. We ate and watched a movie and started kissing shortly after. After we were finished, she asked if I'd like to have sex... Now, I'm a 22 year old virgin and I've always been a bit, I guess you could say, of a nerd. I want, well wanted, my first time to be with someone I truly loved. I told her this after she had asked and she didn't take it well. She accused me of lying just to not have sex with her and that her brother paid me go out with her. I had no idea what the fuck she was talking about; she proceeded to say some other crazy accusations. I told her this relationship wasn't going to work out so she then ran into my bathroom and locked herself in. I've just realized I'm rambling a lot about the details and not the actual incident, sorry. I'll try and shorten this post up. After some deliberation she ended staying the night after she had apologized. I felt pretty bad about the whole thing and she asked to say, so I said yes. I let her sleep on the couch planned on bringing her home in the morning.

As I keep thinking about this I can't stop thinking how stupid it was to let her stay the night. I really should've known better... The way she became so emotional and distraught about me not sleeping with her should've been an instant alarm... So I fell asleep in my bedroom an hour after laying down. I did hear here walking around a few times but didn't think much of it.

I'm sorry, I just don't want to get into all the details about myself being raped. It's very tough to think about let alone tell all of Reddit. My problem right now is she's telling me that she'll tell the police I raped her... Not only that but when her brother, who used to be a close fucking friend, came this morning he threatened to harm me greatly if I did anything. I really don't know what to do.

Edit: Because so many people need to know, I was raped in my anus with a dildo. Please, more details won't help and thinking about it is very painful for me.

Edit 2: I will be back to reply, I need to take pictures as a Redditor suggested. Also, thank you so much to those who are actually giving advice. It means a lot to me right now as you're all I have to talk to about this.

Edit 3: I have pictures now and will be going to a doctor in the morning. If I can't schedule an appointment today I will go to the police. Thank you so much Redditors, you really helped clear my head. I felt like the world was folding in on me and that I was helpless... I will try as well to get her brother to threaten me again on the phone so I can record it as well. I don't know if they'll answer or be stupid enough but I'm going to try my hardest to sort this out. Again, I love all of you who gave me a plan of action. I'm now going to sleep, it's 4am. This kept me up all night but I feel like I can finally get a little sleep. I'll give you an update if you'd like. Thank you so much.

Edit 4: I'm going to the ER instead. I'll update.

Edit 5: I just got back and I'm exhausted. It's been more than 24 hours since I've slept and the ER took hours. The ER trip went better than expected other than the long wait, and I do now have evidence to present to the police whereas previously I didn't have any. I cannot thank you enough for that recommendation. Also, 180 comments? I'll have a lot to go through when I wake up. My plan right now is to get at least 2 hours of sleep, go to the police station and then provide a full update.

*Edit 6: Final, and best, edit. Listen, the truth is I was bored late at night with nothing to do talking to a friend. We were talking about how gullible most Redditors are I said something along the lines of "I bet I could get to the front page if I trolled them considering how stupid most of them are." Well, guess what? I've never trolled before, wrote a half-assed story and those who were smart enough to point out how bullshit it was were mostly downvoted. Honestly, I'm sorry I trolled you guys so hard, I never meant to front page it.

Oh course we should be pissed. But this isn't "Everybody'sRights" it's r/MensRights.

I guess this concerns us in that it reduces credibility for male rape even worse than before.

People were upset. But you don't feed a troll. It's not like he cared about it, so you don't give him attention. There where some people who tried to reason, but he said "It's not that I care". So instead of wasting time, people just stoped reacting.

I agree, we should address this the same as we address women falsely accusing men. However, how we address things and whether we get outraged by them are different. As some people have pointed out here, there is no action to be taken against an internet troll. I don't think anyone agrees with what that person did, nor finds it funny. So no harm there.

As others have said, internet trolls shouldn't be taken too seriously.

The only real negative here is that people like that cast more doubt on the people who actually are raped that come here for help. But that's the price you have to pay when people become willing to troll, whether to try to damage our cause or just "for the lulz," etc.

MRAs are against false rape accusations to police, university officials, employers, etc (as are most rational people, feminists are cool with them judging by their actions, policies, and in some cases their own words).

MRAs don't really care too much about trolls posting fake stories about being raped online.
