As has been said earlier in the topic men and women TRY to commit suicide a lot, women more than men. Men just succeed at it more. If I had to make a completely uneducated guess it has to do with a culture where bigger stronger things are manly. Women tend to take pills or other poison while men use guns (at least in America where guns are easy to get, not sure what the difference is in other countries)

The question is how do we get men to speak up more about it and make it so their problems are heard rather than dismissed and told to suck it up. That sounds easier than changing all of culture IMO.

Men also are much more successful with suicide attempts, either more girls do it for attention or just haven't thought through a plan that would actually work.

I observe that American culture does a poor job support boy and men when they are challenged with the trails of life, so they kill themselves in greater numbers than women.

For example, google suicide help. I see no programs geared toward men and boys.

I also see men share their troubles on line here, and most of the posts call them liars and trolls first (read: not supportive).

Women attempt suicide at a higher rate than men (four times more I think), Men attempt suicide less, but the attempts have a higher rate of success than women. Women tend to use pills, which they can usually found and taken to the ER, men usually use guns and can't be saved.

This is an issue that definitely should gain even more support. I dislike the phrasing of this though, as it is pretty self defeating "...but like most "mens issues" this one will probably be ignored." Well yeah, it might be - with that attitude. Stand up! Donate to help lines, volunteer with help lines, ask for more gender specified prevention plans, talk about it more... don't say "sucks nothing will happen"
