Not much has changed. Justice for the deceived man has a low priority. And no negative word about the cheating mom

A lower court ruled against Fischer, saying that he "had held himself out to be the younger daughter's father, that he had caused her to rely on him to meet her financial and emotional needs, and that revealing her true parentage after she had been led to believe for her whole life that [Fisher] was her father, would be detrimental to her emotional well-being."

This week, the seven Connecticut Supreme Court justices unanimously overturned the ruling, saying that there was no evidence that Fisher's lawsuit would be of financial detriment to the younger daughter, a legal technicality that helped overturn the original decision.The justices ordered the case back to the Middletown Superior Court

What a load of crap. Scumbag cheating wife does something stupid... she gets away scot free, while the men have to fight each other over the money.

Then the court is absolutely 100% in the wrong here - you don't raise a kid for 15 years, leaving the biological father completely unaware that he had a child, and then say "surprise! you're a dad, now give me $200k".

Unbelievable that a state supreme court could botch a ruling so badly. I wonder if this will get elevated to the US Supreme Court and if they'll get it right... it is a pretty open and shut case in my opinion. The biological dad should be on the hook for 3 years of child support at most, but probably not even that.

I can't even imagine how it's supposed to be justice when a woman intentionally hides info about who the father is, the father is denied the chance to see his child or even know the child exists... and then he's suddenly expected to shell out almost a quarter million dollars. Absofuckinglutely ridiculous.

Im a little split on this.

On one hand it sounds like the biological father knew it was his and the mother and he deceived this guy. So maybe he should get some compensation.

On the other, why did he wait 15 years before doing a test if he had doubts? Seems like he should still think of her as his daughter emotionally even though its not biological. This makes me think hes just trying to get at this guy.

What troubles me about this is how it effects the daughter. She has grown up with this man as her father, does not matter if he is biological or not and now by him suing this other man it as if he is saying all they hd together did not matter.

This could be very damaging and confusing to her.

I can understand his anger and wanting to be compensated, but I also think he should think of the child. Did his love for her stop as soon as the DNA results came through? I suspect not and if it did he is not a very nice man to start with.

The mom is the bad actor here. SHE should be the one getting sued. If she wants child support and the kid provided for, we've already got a system in place for her to tap the right man for child support. Give the fraud victim his money back!
