I don't like the language (in fact I find it offensive), but he's not the only one trying to make the point that women are responsible for their actions too. Getting drop dead drunk with a bunch of strangers is not only stupid, but dangerous. Keli Goff, a feminist, said something similar here - "Why Are Feminists Afraid to Admit the Connection Between Alcohol and Rape?".

Apparently the author, Paul, doesn't like how feminists distill rape down to an easy answer, the it's not sex, its power component.

This is a reasonable point, the psychology of rape is much more complex than a one-liner and any "conventional wisdom" on the motive of rapists should be scrutinized with science.

Of course, being more troll than thinker, he shits on that point by offering a dense counter argument:

If it is just about power, shouldn’t the primary victims be children or the elderly?

Putting aside the obvious fact that children and elderly are primary targets of certain kinds of sexual violence, why wouldn't a rapist choose a grown woman? Who else would represent his impotence in day-to-day life more?

I mean, look at Paul's own description of the woman who is "begging for it". You can almost see him pitching a tent already thinking about it.

The elderly and children don't openly challenge a rapist's dominance like a grown woman would.

Now, let’s take it a step further that just acknowledging the fact that using our brains forces us to concede that rape is, in fact, about sex and reproduction.

You can see what my critique is here. Paul on the one hand critiques his enemies for dumbing down the motives for rape, then on the other says he knows exactly what it is about: "sex and reproduction".

Never mind that male on male rape doesn't make babies and often occurs even if the rapist would be considered hetero. Shit, just yesterday we had that video on Reddit where Alabama fans were whipping out their balls and sexually assaulting a passed out man. None of them were really 'gay' so that shoots down the it's all "about sex and reproduction" argument.

(Note: I'll probably get yelled at for not mentioning female rapists, so here's a good time to say female rapists exist, but aren't the focus of Paul's blog or my rebuttal)

The nice thing about science is that we don't need to argue about whose brains are engaged or not. Show us the science, Paul, or admit you're talking out of your ass as much as your so-called feminist pinheads.

Do women ask for it?

This seems to be an ongoing mastabatory exercise in mens movement forums. See it a lot in /r/mr too. It usually starts with describing a straw-woman harlot and Paul doesn't disappoint.

It's really a moot point and reflects more on the the author's fantasy of punishing women who dare to flaunt their sexuality than saying anything about sexuality itself.

Of course alcohol contributes to sexual assault. Of course being locked up in a nunnery will put a woman in less danger of sexual assault than being wasted at a nightclub or college party.

I have ideas about women who spend evenings in bars hustling men for drinks, playing on their sexual desires so they can get shit faced on the beta dole; paying their bar tab with the pussy pass. And the women who drink and make out, doing everything short of sex with men all evening, and then go to his apartment at 2:00 a.m..

I'm sure you do, pervert. I can hear you fapping from here, wishing you were the one able to punish this straw-woman for her evils.

In my opinion their “plight” from being raped should draw about as much sympathy as a man ~~who loses a wallet full of cash after leaving it laying around a bus station unattended~~ [in prison].

When some Australian cricketers merely took some women back to their hotel rooms, they were punished for their behaviour and harangued in the press. So we can presume everyone knows what going back to a hotel room is all about.

Or can women have it both ways again? If he takes her back to his room, he is being sleezy but if she goes back to his room that doesn't mean she's going there for sex.

I think he raises a couple of good points. Why is it that women act in such a sexually inviting way towards men yet don't want the man to actually act upon the desires that SHE is encouraging?

But are these women asking to get raped?... They are freaking begging for it.

Well, yes, but this may be on a subconscious level and the women doing this may not know that their behaviour is being interpreted as a "come fuck me" call out to men. Then again, maybe they know exactly what they're doing and get a power trip from turning men away who are about to cum their pants from being cock-teased all night.

If women don't want to have sex, then their clothing and behaviour should reflect that.

If I wave a $1000 bill in front of you constantly...should I be surprised if you yank it out of my hand after the 20th time? Whether it's my intention or not to make you crave or desire that money, my waving it in front of your face incessantly may make you yank it from me even if you're not the type of person who would normally do that type of thing. At first, your better judgement may tell you "no, that's not mine to take" but after your better judgement is worn down by the constant taunting...well there's only so much a guy can take before instinct and desire kick in and shoves your better judgement to the side. And I'm not saying all men would give in to such desires...but it's safe to say some would.

I think you need to stop trying to look for things to tell other MRAs to do or not do. Frankly, I think you should take the article in the spirit it was written. And more to the point, if you don't like the site, stay out of it. I can guarantee Paul doesn't give one small shit what you or anyone else here thinks he should do...

And I know damned well not one of you armchair quarterbacks will lift a finger to actually live the advice you give, or try and do a better job... Nope, every one of you will complain Paul or Harry or Bill just aren't doing it 'right' (as in, the way YOU want).

Put up, or shut up, is the phrase I believe...
