I just found this subreddit, and absolutely love that it even exists. I am a firm believer in men's rights, and have always felt that male priveledge, though it DOES exist, is not exactly the way it is often made out to be.

Anyway, I should start by clarifying that I am a gay man, and what I have to say comes mostly from only having spoken about this subject with a handful of women, but I've noticed a pattern and felt this was the place to bring it up.

There seems to be a common theme in women's opinions on sex. I've noticed that it seems to be all about achieving orgasm, and very little about the GUY himself. I've noticed that a large number of women seem to get no enjoyment out of a man's body / have no appreciation for the male form. Why is this the case?

I know personally, actual physical contact with the parts of a man is probably more important / satisfying than the actual climax, yet I seem to consistently hear about women who only care about what spots a guy is hitting, while touching, kissing, and other forms of physical contact that do not contribute directly to sexual stimulation seem to not matter.

Thoughts? Sorry if this is the wrong place for this - it seemed relevant to me!

EDIT: I wanted to clarify some things that I have been thinking while reading people's comments. First off, I AM speaking in generalizations, which is always a dangerous thing to do, and I want to acknowledge that outright. These are generalizations based on my personal experiences and I am merely stating them in hopes of generating discussion.

To sum up what I am saying: My main point here isn't necessarily that women are "selfish" and men are not. It's more that in my experience I have seen that, when it comes to sex, women seem to be focussed purely on direct sexual stimulation and achieving orgasm, while men seem to be more focussed on appreciation of the female body / body of their desired gender. I am not saying this is ALWAYS the case, but it my experience it is almost always true.

Why I feel this is important: The reason why I bring this up is because I find, in general, our society views the female body as beautiful and the male body as either humorous or nonsexual. Many people argue that women are objectified and this is a negative thing. I don't necessarily disagree with this point, but it bothers me that people don't consider the opposite: why are men not objectified? Why is the male body not protrayed in the same way the female body is? What I am talking about here isn't necessarily a rights issue, but instead, an issue of body image and appreciation for the male form that I think is severely lacking in our society.
