I have a problem with moving the age of consent from an age below which is actually child sex abuse (10 or 12) to an age where females are often sexually mature, just as many men did back then when they were concerned that:

men of any age who were expressing their "natural" sexual desires would be punished for engaging in activity with willing and sexually mature young women.

Sadly, the feminists and religious conservatives won by convincing the proles that statutory rape was:

constructed as one of middle-class men preying on working-class women.

AKA men are bad, women are innocent paradigm.

Prior to the late 1800s it seems statutory rape laws existed to actually protect children from sexual abuse. With the onset of "progressive" feminism came laws designed to punish natural male sexuality while playing the class war card typical of "progressivism". Supported by religious conservatives and the proles enthralled by the class war anti-male propaganda, they were quite successful.

Anyway, the main point of this submission is that the unjust statutory "rape" laws we see today are a result of feminist meddling, backed by religious conservatives and fueled by misandric class warfare anti-male rhetoric. Perhaps you should read the link.

You are promoting an unjust system that does more harm than good. How many innocent little angels who are 16 or 18 years old and fucking guys of their own free will are "saved" by age of consent laws that couldn't be "saved" by parental responsibility? Very few, and most of them don't need "saving" in the first place. How many actually innocent males are sent to prison and/or put on a sex offender's list by ages of consent that are too high? Plenty.

Perhaps you should be telling me how you plan on fixing the system, or are you just going to act like you're a mainstream media pundit asking "gotcha" questions of Ron Paul? Play fair or don't play at all. Try to grasp the big picture.

Please provide for me a 130 x 130 chart with age ranges 0-129 for males on one axes and 0-129 for females on the other. Mark X in each grid when the two should be legally allowed to have sex. Then prove to me that the system you've just created does more far more good than harm. Once you've done that, please provide separate charts for homosexual relationships (since apparently these are different). Following that, please provide charts for specific sexual acts and photography as well. Show me how these charts do far more good than harm, too. Thanks.

Or perhaps you'll find that no such chart exists that does more good than harm. Perhaps then you'll move onto a three-dimensional chart with "age difference" on the Z axes. And when you find that no such chart exists that does more good than harm, what will you do then?

I am a largely anonymous poster on the internet. If this username becomes inconvenient here I can discard it. There are a few people who know my real identity, but I trust them not to disclose it even if they disagree with me. Even if my real identity were to somehow come into the light, I doubt many people would care, and even if they did, I know I'm in the right, so what's done is done. Do you think Paul Elam is going to censor his views even though he is in real danger of a bogus legal attack at some point? Do you think Bill Price is going to shut down his website even though he's in a custody battle for his children who he loves? No. Because some things are more important than what people think of you when you know you're doing the right thing. I'm beyond worrying about it.

So no, I'm not worried at all about political suicide.

Now you're going to attack me for thinking only about myself? That's rubbish. If you meant "political suicide" as to the movement, you already had the opportunity to say so.

If you apologize for that and ask me another question, such as "Do you think you're committing political suicide for the men's rights movement?" I'll answer that too.

Perhaps I should have been more clear as to why I was asking the question in the first place. I assumed you knew why. And as soon as I answered your question, you went straight for the "movement" angle, so it's clear you did have it in mind. Not cool. Play fair, man, play fair.

It needs to be pointed out what the age of consent meant in the 1800s compared to what it means today.

It wasn't like it was legal for a man to fuck a 10 yr old girl. It was legal to marry a woman of that age, usually with family permission and all sorts of caveats about consumating the marriage. It was often more likely that a widower would pay a family to marry a woman of 12 or so and she would take over household duties for him and there would be a agreement between the families to wait to consumate the marriage until she is older.

It is still like this in some places in the world, places like India and the middle east. It isn't old men acting like pedophiles but instead arranged marriages with all sorts of caveats.

I also want to point out that it was usually lower class women and families engaging in this. Upper class women sent their daughters to schools and colleges.

I am not making a moral judgement about this, I just get sick and tired of people(ahem feminists) misrepresenting history and facts. I see examples like this all the time. One would be about how women couldn't go to school. They could, it was just not compulsory so families had to pay and if you couldn' pay then your kids didn't go to school. My greatgrandmother was intelligent but from a poor family and they couldn't afford for her to go to school past ten. She made money for the family by reading and writing letters for men who cold read or write, most of them veterans dealling with their benefits after the civil war. If she had been born into a wealthy family she would have almost definately gone to a womens college and graduated with a degree and then married a upper class man....I cold have been born into a family with old money if that were the case...lol..

Me - Fathers were involved in asking the state to legislate to stop it happening.

It was happening anyway, fathers and mothers and pimps were pimping out poor kids, to people that were likely often fathers, and these kids were selling themselves and getting pregnant, stds etc.

There is child prostitution, teen pregnancy etc independent of and predating feminism, it was always there. These progressives and conservatives were trying to stop it.
