I thought the fraternity survey was despicable.

That said, no I don't think a similar survey directed at men would violate any "rights".

What "rights" do you think would potentially be violated? Are you talking about legal rights? Human rights? Rights rooted in some notion of justice?

(1) False equivalence. Mutilation != rape. Should be "Which men would you butt-rape?"

(2) My suggestion is just as funny as the original question, which is to say, not much.

(3) I might be mildly amused or mildly offended, but I would consider it a free speech issue and wouldn't want the person responsible punished. It isn't a violation of rights, because there is no right not to be offended.

(4) Go to any campus and try both questions. See which one gets you in trouble. I'd suspect only the female one would.

Yea that wud be something a feminist would love to do because of how "offended" she is. Doesn't feel too good to have to deal with bashing of ur gender like what men have to put up with all the time. I say boohoo now u know how it feels. Of course nothing compares to "the talk" episode where they (females) made fun of a guy for getting his dock chopped off for wanting a divorce. I think the two would be comparable. Both are wrong, and if done within an organisation, are deserving of censure by that organisation. Neither should be cause to subject innocent people in the same group to collective punishment (collective punishment is generally wrong) or are, alone, evidence of a cultural/institutional problem.

Something of this nature (in either case) could perhaps be considered to constitute incitement to commit a crime, in which case it should probably be illegal, though in the Vermont case I think it just falls in the "sick joke" category. Unless they could be considered to constitute intimidation or a threat (also probably illegal) then (in either case) I don't think anyone's civil rights have been violated. But again, I don't think the Vermont case falls within this category.

Who would you rape?
