The idea that there's a 'rape culture' in society in relation to women, to me is utter nonsense.

Where people find it acceptable to tell rape jokes, asthough its normal. I just think its nonsense.

And by using this grand term 'rape culture', it seems to me feminists are trying to grab the headline as much as anything else, create a soundbite for consumption by the general public, to instil the idea into the general conciousness that all men are potential rapists, and are raping in huge numbers.

'Rape culture'. Thats what it boils down to.

Thats what the general public think it means. Thats who they are trying to sell this shit to, and they are playing on the general publics ignorance to do it.

Its like the 6% rape 'conviction rate' myth.

Its just another headline grabbing term, which seeks to play on the general publics ignorance, because they wont question it. The fact that its nonsense doesnt matter, because by that time the headline will have done its job.

I think this is all about the headline 'rape culture', and its negative connotations. Men are potential rapists, and you as a society allow it to happen.

I think that feminists hide their true intention of using this term beneath a, 'normalization of rape', 'rape jokes, 'victim blaming'.

Although I think they've got a point here in regards to victim blaming in society, but even then, I dont believe the general public blames a woman for her rape, they blame the rapist. The sentiment of the general public is with the victim, how can feminists not understand this?

I think its because they dont want to acknowledge it.

I think its a way of shaming the general public into allowing women to do whatever they want to do.

EDIT I dont think the purely feminist definition of 'rape culture' has got anything to do with rape at all. Its merely a shaming tool to kow society into allowing women to dress and act slutty and not be criticized for it.
