On the trip home from work today my 20 week pregnant wife gave me a heads up on a policy from NSW health about the first book in appointment at the hospital how they prefer if the expectant mother goes alone, her sister who had recently given birth informed her how she will be asked at this appointment if I ever abused her or if her father ever abused her.
This to me is just plain insulting that a policy is in place by my government which states that I am already under suspicion for being a criminal merely for my place as a father.
Her father by the way was bed ridden and unable to even feed himself so i can't see him hitting her either.
My wife has said she will support me being there for the first appointment as frankly as she said "without me there would be no baby anyway", any suggestions on what I should do if the midwives/nurses refuse me entry during the appointment?
