I support equal rights for all, and therefore I think that the favoring women over men or men over women is completely wrong, and that is true across the board. One area that seems really in-equal to me is birth control. I am aware of the history of oral contraceptives, and why they were originally created for women rather than men, but in our society today why isn't there a similar option for men? No one expects women to only count on diaphrams or female condoms (unless they want to) so why should men have to trust to condoms rather than having another option, like an oral contraceptive that would prevent impregnation?

I know that men and women have very different physiology, so that could be an understandable barrier, but it seems like it wouldn't be insurmountable. Does anyone know about this? Would an oral contraceptive for men be welcome?
