This article is of course absurd. It makes claims which no substantial unbaised research supports, and which mountains refute. Indeed, countries that have a more positive attitude towards sex, and by extension make ease of access to pornography a breeze, have lower rates of std transmission and rape. The marriages that fall apart "because of" pornography really were either already in serious jeopardy, are are troubled only insofar as the participants are irrational enough to attribute things to pornography that are not inherent to it (like immorality or its use being considered cheating).

A few comments:

Some porn is made by women for women... is that 'good' porn or bad porn? Women also view it...

I think it was Sweden, they have the highest use of pornography and the lowest rate of sex crimes.

One study showed that sex crimes have been going down for a long time, just as the rate of people viewing porno has gone up.

It might not be viewing pornography that is bad, but instead OCD problems with staying awake all night and day clicking away on the PC. Same problem with World of Warcraft etc...

porno has many facets, some labeled as good, some as bad. Although one person may think latex fetish pics are just fine another may find it morally wrong... but who is to say who is right?

When it comes to one not only viewing porno but also having affairs the problem may be the relationship and not just porno... but porno sure can make for a handy excuse for all kinds of relationship problems...

Many couples view porno and are just fine with it. Others see it a s a sin, sexuality is far too complicated to start painting it with a broad brush.

Porno is the only outlet for many people with poor social skills and no chance of a mate, or those who are disfigured, handicapped etc... Is it right to take away their basic desire to want to be with another although that person may be just a picture? Are they doing "wrong"?

Who is to decide what I can read or view? I would think it a far worse crime to censor, than for anything else... I may not agree with what a person wants to do, but as long as they are harming nobody, that is their business.

The business of pornography is nearly as old as prostitution it's self.

People have collected it as they would any cherished work of art through out history. I agree that a person who cheats on their SO, by emotionally or physically engaging with others is a reason to be shocked and upset. But, only to be looking at photography or cinematography of other people in order to be visually aroused so an urge can be satisfied with out the need to physically engage another human being is harmless, IMHO.
