MR, what do you think about the gender imbalance in college admissions?

A balanced student population? Women: Health and Education (WE NEED MORE MALE TEACHERS) sectors. Men: Engineering, and Trades (Carpenters Plumbers etc) I'm sure there will be some mixing - why not?

The sad thing is, young Men are entering the education system having no pride of themselves. Girls get the "YOU GO GRRL" reinforcement from media, advertisements, and the Education System (which I mentioned above) and Boys get NOTHING.

Applicants should be selected on merit alone. End of discussion, IMO. An equal population is not important at all. I don't even see a case for it.

Feminist "thinking":

Men < Women in a course: "Man up, stop being drop-outs, make right choices"

Men > women in a course (like engineering): "PAAATTRIARCHYYY, SEXISM, OPRESSIONNNNN!!!! - Women are CONDITIONED to not be ENGINEERS!!!!".

From a woman's perspective: A balanced environment is important. Women generally don't enjoy these overly-XX campuses; I went to a school that was around 65-35 for the ratio, and a lot of girls were lonely and miserable, socially speaking. Schools like that also tend to particularly attract guys like m1ss1ontomars, who are all "wooo pussy!" focused, which can create hostility.

I think we do need to focus on the reasons, though, and make the education system more male-friendly and decrease the stigmas for men on extracurriculars, so that boys can reach their full potential like women are encouraged to, so that schools will naturally be more balanced.

I think it's a fine demonstration of Feminist ideology that women can do it all and don't need men. The problem is that men are helping to pay for the universities they cannot get into (unless they're private), which if they are to be denied they should not have to pay into (but we have decades of this ideology in other, similar sexist-based gaps such as family law). Feminists want to have these things be exclusive to women, and have leveraged sexist & racist policy to get it and they're getting it at everyone else's expense. We're already past the lie that they want equality.

As a society, it is important to have a functional and highly skilled populace. Realistically, both sexes should have an equal opportunity to go to college. It's what will produce the best outcome for society, as slanting everything to one side will only foster more problems and perpetuate class issues; but that isn't something that matters to the policy makers who are funded by Feminist lobbies.

So it's a good thing. The worse it is made, the sooner we crash and the sooner the moderates can pick up the pieces. Sometimes a family can't move on until the alcoholic mom kicks the bucket.

I believe there are social and educational benefits to having diverse learning environments, and that those benefits can be achieved with limited affirmative action that gives a little boost to qualified prospective students from underrepresented groups.

I think it's time for men to...ahem...man up and stop wussing out in high school. There are plenty of capable males in college and I'm sure there are more. It's up to them to make the right choices in life.

Besides, it's not like the balance is significantly different from 50-50...
