Background: I'm black and live in the "suburb hood" (bad but not Chiraq bad). 2nd year in university. Soon to be 18. LTR is 19.

  LTR texted me her car got broken into while going for a jog at a park and she was upset and distraught. I asked typical questions such as anything of value was stolen, was their witnesses, and then told her she alert the police immediately (did I make a mistake doing this and caring about it?). Nothing incredible valuable was stolen just her wallet with her CC, student ID, and like 20 bucks. There were no witnesses. The main expense was going to repair a broken window. The problem arose when she texted me what I believe to be a shit test.

  "God I hate fucking niggers." (she's white by the way)

  I'm not rattled by the word itself but rather the intentions behind it. She didn't even know who did it so her "guilty till proven innocent" toward blacks mentality ticked me off. I warned her not to use that word ever again knowing she was upset. Of course this turned to "Come on. We all know who did it." Some more back and forth (Was I showing her value by arguing?). She got more angrier "I don't give a fuck what you think. I can say whatever I want. Fuck you." I wasn't emotional at all just disappointed cause she was a pretty good LTR and I said my final words to her "So be it."

  I've since hard nexted her but there is no doubt in my mind this was a shit test for whatever reason. Couple hours later she messaged me through snapchat (I don't delete and block and shit, leave it to girls to do it) too feed her hamster about how she's not a racist and blah blah blah. She hamstered cause she has black friends and goes to a university with a large amount large amount of black people (%23) and terrible terrible things can happen if you call the wrong person a nigger. I sense she would never say this in public or even in front of me but text was somehow ok?!? Did I somehow look like a bitch for caring through text?

  I know TRP preaches lift but I'm already pretty physically built (6 feet, ~180 pounds, low body fat). Grew up in the "suburb hood" so not a pushover and dealt with a lot of bs. My degree is getting pretty difficult (Bio chem) so I don't have time to chase girls left and right with studying and my classes are 99% guys with some classes having just 3 or 4 whales. I just want to know for future relationships, what could I do differently to make a girl not say some ignorant shit like this to me? Or how should I have handled this particular situation?
