Ok, so say a fairly well of guy is taken to court by a woman requesting child support from him. If the guy asks for a DNA test because he thinks he is not the father, then technically it is correct that this is not in the child's best interests, as it opens up the possibility of the kid benefiting from some hefty child support payments.

This is I feel pushing the 'best interests of the child' argument too far, since if he's not the kid's father he owes no child support. If you use the best interests of the child argument like this, you could almost start saying Donald Trump should start paying loads of kids six figure child support, as if he doesn't then that isn't in their best interest. Who cares if he's the father?

I think if the child support system was overhauled, this fraud would stop. Instead of getting a paycheck from ex-hubby, why not a government-issued debit card that only works for necessary items like food, water, textbooks? If women realized they couldn't go get their hair done with that money, they'd think twice before committing fraud.

In Michigan if a man signs an Acknowledgment of Paternity, presented by hospitals shortly after the birth, he is the legal father, and mom, but not he, can later change that if he is not the biological father by petitioning for a DNA test.

The FOC (our child support and parenting time pseudo-agency) actually pushed the legislature to allow a mother and one other person - including her own mother - to declare any man as the father, having the same effect as if he himself had signed the acknowledgment.

Cause, you know, no one would ever lie about a thing like that.

OMFG this makes me pissed off! So they take DNA tests to get money from biological dads, but when men who aren't biological fathers want to get out of paying for kids that aren't theirs, DNA tests don't apply. WTF. This is bullshit. This is the stupid fucking crap that feminism has embedded into the legal system.
