As women, we’ve been conditioned to blame ourselves for someone else’s problems. Trying to convince someone and prove ourselves is exhausting, and not worth our time. If they don’t accept you for who you are, they’ll never be happy. Trying to jump through hoops to prove your worth to them will turn you into a doormat.
It’s not you, it’s them. When you start asserting your boundaries and not let people walk all over you, LV people will resent you. They’ll try to tear you down because they are miserable themselves. Do these people add value to your life? No, they subtract it. Cutting them out and moving on is a liberating feeling.

I needed to hear this. Not necessarily so much for today me, but for past me who still needs healing.
Thank you.

The irony is that this is a sisyphean task-- the more we 'chase' or are simply around these types of people, the greater the feeling of 'not good enough, need to do more' becomes.
When we're in a state of quiet knowing: of knowing and being solid in our worth, we don't need to prove ourselves or chase people. And others who are solid in their worth also 'mesh' better with us. This is not just contained to the area of romantic relationships, but can affect every area of life-- career, friendships, family relationships etc.
Great reminder! It's certainly an interesting phenomenon.

This right here is a great comment. I like how you worded this - a "quiet knowing." There is such serenity knowing your worth. This week I was contacted by someone whom I always felt I needed in my life to validate my work, and for the first time since finding FDS, I realized I don't need this. I have this bedrock of self-esteem now where my worth comes from within.
