I like the spirit of this post. Let's hope the appreciation gets to this wiki user. I had heard something dimly about Earl at the time of his suicide so I'm glad to have this information at hand.

It's a great resource for when feminists say "If you want male shelters, why don't you go out and build one?" (...not to mention that none of them have actually built a shelter either)

There's a large government and non-profit infrastructure that makes those shelters possible...even though those institutions are primarily staffed by men, they still manage to see past their genitalia to help other people who don't look like them. ^{^{^/s}}

The more you see, the more you see. How is that feminism can perpetually be the underdog when there's so much evidence of mass support by mixed-gender institutions for almost everything they ask for? Where's the evidence of oppression?

I first heard of Earl Silverman through one of The TinMen's slides and I was shocked and saddened reading his story. I think there was a wiki page up when I first heard of him. But to think that this was created so recent.
