Because crimes like rape and DV aren’t treated like other offenses anymore. What is valid for other crimes suddenly is no longe valid when we’re talking about rape and DV. And feminism keeps pushing for such crimes to receive special treatment (at the expense of due process) each time more. Don’t you think it’s very telling that the crimes which society believes affect women disproportionately receive special treatment? Gynocentrism is so strong that it can shadow even society’s affection towards children, after all, hitting a woman is unacceptable, but hitting your kids can be educational, as well as countries that have specific laws about “feminicide”, a man who kills his wife might get a longer sentence than a man who kills his children.

Yeah the accuser (man or woman) should always have to back up their claim. So stupid that a false accusation can dox a man and ruin his life, even after he has been proven innocent.

I guess framing it as affecting women more is the only way to get through to most people’s brains. Since many would rather fight for animal rights than for their fellow species’ males.

Rape as a crime is extremely unfortunate. It's both extremely traumatic to the victim, and also really hard to prove.

Due process is innocent until proven guilty. You can still believe the victim believes they're telling the truth and take it seriously, and simultaneously not automatically think the accused is guilty.

If you get raped, really the last thing you want is to be questioned if it even happened. That is quite mentally damaging. Dunno about where you live, but here the police really doesn't take sexual assault claims seriously.

Really those who falsely accuse are doing a double disservice, ruining people who are innocent and also making it harder for the real victims to be believed.

So yes, both rape victims and innocent people are the victims of false accusations.

Also, found not guilty =/= false accusation. The court doesn't find you innocent, the court just finds the evidence against you is not strong enough. Big difference.

Newsflash. If rape allegations don't stand up to reasonable skepticism, then they weren't valid to begin with. The only women who have anything to fear are those that make allegations which are false in the first place. I wonder which one she is.

Lets see what happens when we reverse the logic: "You know, its a shame when rape allegations which are true come to light, because its really unfortunate for men who might face unwarranted skepticism about not being a rapist."

Also the logic of that quote is basically "If a woman punches you, its your fault for hurting her fist".

And actually I think we're not hard enough on false accusers. False rape accusers need to get the same sentence the accused would have gotten and be put on a public national registry, just like sex offenders do, so everyone knows they're sociopathic liar.
