Although the Vice President addressed “families everywhere,” she immediately turned her attention to women affected by the pandemic, highlighting a Reuter’s article by Jonnelle Marte as evidence that women are the one’s suffering most during the pandemic and beginning her editorial with a story about a female hotel worker with a wife, son, and mother who rely on her income. The woman, M. Rocha, was furloughed from her job and her story is symbolic of the men and women across the country looking to return to work and needing to support their families.

Because of the biased media the policy will be biased because they focus only on the wellbeing of women and girls and ignore men and boys. despite the fact that men lost more jobs during the pandemic and are more likely to die.

Yeah but the pandemic negatively affected women more than men is what the media would say

It's so interesting. I've never seen this in the news. If not for this, I probably would have continued along believing the false narrative that this damaged women more.

Side note, I find it interesting that the media frames this as setting women back rather than effecting both sexes.

I mean if women are being forced to be the domestic labor in a marriage that is constraining her to one role. But can't the same be said for men being forced into the role of breadwinner because his wife just became his dependant after losing her job?

It's almost like men are invisible to the mainstream media accept in cases of misbehavior or extreme accomplishments lol.

The media will say: "Men lose most jobs. Women most affected." Hillary will say: "Women have lost their breadwinners, their providers." Only MRAs will say the truth.

Interesting. I read 'women's jobs most affected by Covid crisis' all the time. Maybe it differs in different countries, though I wouldn't know why, and I think prejudiced media are more probable in this case.

I went to the BLS website. The numbers flip for people who are married. That’s probably the point people were making. The pandemic reinforced the stereotype that women’s careers are less important than men’s careers when it comes to marriage.
