Women aren't socialized into being sociable and so on, that's the usual nonsense feminist lens that assumes the world revolves around women and them being oppressed. The studies show the opposite; that boys are socialized *out of* these behaviors.

Parents enforce gender roles on boys while largely leaving girls be.

This is especially true in terms of socialization and emotional upbringing.

This is an important distinction, because if we take the feminist conception of the issue then we end up perpetuating the problem of assuming focusing on womens wellbeing and so on is going to fix things.

It's like you have two population sets; One is beaten when they try and read and the other isn't. The one that can read convinces themselves that the reason for the differrence is a conspiracy to make them do all the reading and they are somehow the victims. So they focus on trying to normalize the idea that they shouldn't *have* to read if they don't want to. Some take up this opportunity, but not all because reading is obviously desirable. Hence the difference closes, but not entirely. So they just repeat it again but more targetted; We should no longer have to use our reading skills or knowledge gained by it to help the other group. This again doesn't close the gap. So another solution is adopted; and on and on it goes. Because of the refusal to accept the situation doesn't revolve around them and how they are treated unfairly, the situation is unfixable.

So while the writer calls out Obama for peddling unhelpful bullshit, she engages in it herself.

It seems to basically be saying "women aren't better than men because of biology. They're better than men because they're raised to serve others and they're held to higher standards.". I think yes to the first sentence, and no to the second. Women are not better than men because of biology. Women are also not better than men because they're held to higher standards

Women are not better than men, period. When women do have power, they also sometimes abuse it like men sometimes do (e.g. mothers abusing their children, female teachers raping their students, women abusing their partners then playing the victim to avoid being prosecuted, etc.)

Women are also not held to higher standards in general. If anything men are, hence why they're judged / punished more harshly for bad behavior. The idea that women are indisputably better doesn't come from either biological fact nor how women are socialized. It comes from a complete ignorance or denial of the fact that women are already just as bad as men are, even with the amount of power they currently have

Obama got a lot of passes when he was in office. Nice to see people finally calling him out as yet another full of shit politician. To be fair, though, he was an incredible public speaker. However, he has shown to be yet another corrupt shill who is as traditional as the cuckservatives he criticized.

Easily one of the worst Presidents, in my opinion. Campaigned on change, hope, and progress and failed to deliver jackshit in his promises.
