Remember than WHO and UNAIDS both push for circumcision in these countries despite the fact that such violence already exists.

So in addition to local cultures having these attitudes, world-renowned organizations come in and claim circumcision will help against HIV. Of course they say it should be done with consent and anesthesia and so on, but at what moment can we ask them to take into account the context into which they jump to claim it will save Africa from AIDS ?

A quote about men circumcised by force in several African countries to fight AIDS (the so-called voluntary male medical circumcision programs):

"In my family there are some older ones who were caught and circumcised [by force]. Even some of them, due to that harsh pain and huge embarrassment, even today they aren’t right in the head. Many of them are still around today. They are just barely there though, physically there but mentally sick" (page 27)
