Provide statistics and sources. Take their statistics at face value and address the issues associated with them. If there are none, acknowledge them. If there are persistent disagreements about the quality of the data, methodology used, inclusion and exclusion criteria and so on or even outright denial, then there is nothing else you can do. In that case, you should prevent yourself from wasting your time and instead ignore them.

It is true that there are brigaders - some of which happily boast about it on other subs. Nonetheless, letting go at the right time may be more effective whilst preserving the possibility for critical voices to voice their opinions here and potentially educate themselves on egalitarian perspectives that are actually compatible with their proclaimed values.

He's got a point. So many times I grabbed my head here and thought, "why did I just spend ten minutes providing arguments and data, this is a troll". I don't mean feminists and people who even ridicule a subject, which is fine by me, I mean people who deliberately write something provocative they don't really believe in, just to agonize the environment. It's a kick for them.

Less moderation is often best. So many subs are riddled with overly zealous, power hungry or socially deprived mods that are just ban crazy. This does not seem to be one of them. If someone says something you disagree with or offends you, either engage them or move on.

But since several feminist subs ban people just for posting here, it's pretty reasonable for some people to not want to post under their regular account.

And if they all ask the same questions or make the same argument.... guess we should be getting pretty good at answering them by now. We're talking about a point of view that at least for some, may be thoughts they've never had before. It's like a subreddit for telling people the Moon really is made of cheese. Contrariness is expected.

And as for the real trolls who have heard it before and just want to try their luck arguing here... honestly is any feminist really like that? I used to go on feminist boards and debate twenty at a time, and you're complaining when the odds are reversed? For shame! If you've never had the experience, and these days now their censorship rules have solidified I guess nobody does have that experience, well it's tough to keep track of twenty different arguments. It becomes impersonal and you get snippy with the wrong person or answer the wrong question. You take too long answering them they get impatient, you answer too soon they say you're dominating the forum. It's a tough thing just from the mechanics. It's not low effort. And at least I was arguing with the advantage of the facts. Any feminist that can stick with this subreddit for more than a day or two shouldn't be so easily dismissed as "troll".

Even beyond trolls, a lot of posters here seem to actively post against the interests of men in general. You gotta remember the platform you're on. This is reddit. Reddit is one of the largest far left echo chambers on the internet. This runs specifically contrary to a men's rights subreddit.

Yeah, IDK what is going on as of late. The number of blatantly misandrist legbeards up in this sub spewing their victim blaming and hatred has gone through the roof, but, I'd bet you all my karma the mods are way too spineless to do anything about it. They absolutely refuse to do anything about them already.

one of the strengths of this sub is that it relies on facts, honesty, and open discussion...not silencing dissent and requiring strict adherence to dogma.

Visit any feminist subreddit and you'll find anything BUT a forum for open and honest discussion, MensRights has massive amounts of moral highground over them, and it's not worth sacrificing that to just silence a few trolls who get downvoted to oblivion anyway.

Fake/troll/new accounts are everywhere on Reddit. It is slowly harming Reddit. If this is not addressed site wide I’ll stop bothering.

Accountability is an internet problem looking for a solution.

It's annoying, but replying with facts is a better way to win people over. Maybe not the knuckledragger you are replying to, but someone on the fence could happen to read it, then decide to look into the facts more. Boom, we got another member.

The genuine and fence sitters here on MR, are generally civil, well spoken and willing to debate fairly.

There are outliers but for the most part we are a civil bunch, with solid convictions on right and wrong.

We may not always agree, see my statements on circumcision, but we typical argue like adults.

Let the trolls come, we generally know how to silence and ostracize them in this group.

Being able to ban them will just let our haters point at us and say, see they ban other opinions that make them feel icky.

And I like to think we are not feminists here.

Feminist subs do not allow others to post any views contrary to the objectives of the sub.

We should have the same rules here.
