If the man got everything he wanted out of his family, and by that I mean absolute certainty of authority and respect; then it may even be a reasonable deal to make.

The problem is that most men are used and abused indirectly but they will never get the protection from the law in case something goes wrong. They’ll be the ones paying the price if something goes wrong and his malady wants to go bang Chad.

They get the responsibilities with little to zero rights. That is where the real issue lies.
