I highly suggest Micheal Herr's Dispatches for a feel of what those young men experienced before they died.

War is gendered violence. We always talk about soldiers dying and gender is discussed it's always "men and women" but this is another issue where we ignore how that these were specifically men, and boys.

The tradition of men being forced to do the most dangerous work predates civilization itself but we still can't address it directly?

We've spent 60 years vigorously examining society's relationship with women but we still can't talk about society's (abusive) relationship with men?

That's not natural. It's non-Newtonian movement. Society's relationship with men is something that would have been examined if it weren't for the corrosive effects of power and fear.

What we talk about in this sub is a natural extension of our society's recent examinations of gender and the lack of its presence is proof of how warped the current narrative is - as well as the ideology behind it.
