I hired two attorneys. I found my ex’s journal. She told me her first husband abused her and their toddler son. Her journal made no mention of any such abuse. Her first husband left her. She lied to both her son and myself. She was verbally abusive and manipulative to him as she was to me. She also brainwashed their son. When her son grew up, he found out and moved 350 miles from her. I scanned a copy of her journal. My lawyers and I painted a picture of her being the abuser. My lawyers issued 5 Restraining Orders on her. This way, if she screamed abuse like she did about first husband, the judge would throw her grievance out because I put 5 Restraining Orders on her. The judge also read exerts of her journal. Having two lawyers saved me over $85,000. She was trying clean me out. 70% of divorces are filed by the woman and only 30% by the man. Men usually take divorce more personal to our ego like we are a failure. In Louisiana there is no advantage on who files for divorce first. However, circumstances in my divorce, it was advantageous for me. She was one crazy Gaslighting Bitch for 15 years.

I didn't hire an attorney, she did. I get 50/50 custody and pay $160/month in child support (2 kids boy 3 and girl 10) in exchange for me keeping my pension minus 20k buyout from the home equity. I got plenty to Start over and get my kids 50% couldn't ask for more.
