Fleabag is so, so good. It completely turns the 'casual sex is empowering!' trope on its head. I remember I almost quit watching in disgust after the first few minutes because it looked like Cool Girl bullshit, but as the first season goes on, it becomes evident that Fleabag's hypersexual activity is a result of deep, deep trauma to the point where you realize her fourth wall breaking is quite literally her disassociating. I always remember that episode where, in a rare moment she opens up, she says "I just want to cry... all the time."

Oh, god... me, too 😩 They always have to test the waters, if not the first thing out of their mouth, very shortly after. Thankfully my dumbass days are behind me. When they come straight outta the gate with anything sexual (even 'hello, beautiful') I've always blocked immediately. But if they seemed smart and clever and interesting and snuck in some innuendo a day or two later, my overly indulgent brain would pull the 'Well, just wait and see...' card. Any guess what happened when I waited and saw? 😂
