The same goes for indigenous people who've either gone missing or were murdered. Men make up about 80-85% of those cases but they will completely ignore that and do campaigns solely focusing on women

Starting back in the 1960s/70s, feminists did a very clever thing. (It was actually thought through and written up by a bunch of guys in what is called the Frankfurt School, but I won't go into that here.)

They encouraged women's and girl's literacy, which was already high. They raised money and funded feminists (mostly but not only women) to study journalism at universities. They also started up quite a lot of feminist journals and magazines which engaged feminist just out of university to help build up their CVs. By the mid-1980s, most mainstream press had a sizeable number of feminists working within them and as these people got management positions, they would hire more feminists.

So today, the TV and legacy media in general is run by feminists. And you won't find any feminist who will expose the issue of male disadvantage.

Our society still thinks if we give men the same love and attention that we do to women, we'll get soft. So the carrot dangles...

And most of us just say "it is what it is", carry on working, eating shit and taking it "like a man", because the alternatives are:

1) reach out for help and god forbid receive some (which of course would make us all "soft")

or in lieu of that

2) tap into the full extent of masculinity and go "back to monkey" aka "drop some hurt on these mf'ers"

I don't advise choosing option number 2. Funny thing is, option 2 tends to happen anyway when option 1 is withheld for some people, for too long. It's actually not funny, it's the farthest thing from it.

Also, votes. Republican or Democrat, any candidate heard using the words "I support the mens rights movement" or anything in line with it, immediately loses credibility from the opposing ideology. Which is insane, because if women's rights are human rights, and men and women are equal in society, then shouldn't men's rights be human rights as well?

So we're on our own. For now.

The longer the attempt to have a (constructive) dialogue with society about our issues continues, the better the chance that it will be taken seriously.

Different people have different reasons for not talking about it.

Male sex traffickers don't talk about their activities very much because it is illegal.
Male sex trafficking victims don't talk about it very much because they are prohibited from doing so.
Feminists don't talk about male sex trafficking because they view the existence of male suffering as a threat to their worldview.
MRA's don't talk about male sex trafficking very much because we acknowledge that is it already illegal. We acknowledge that at least most people would agree that this is wrong and would stop it if they could.

See, unlike feminists, we are not scraping the absolute bottom of the barrel for things to be outraged about. We aren't angry at society for the mere fact that a few bad apples do bad things and there is simply nothing the rest of us can do to stop it. At least, there is nothing obvious that the rest of us can do to stop it.

We are busy dealing with blatant, institutionalized discrimination that is allowed and encouraged to occur in plain sight in the present, within our own countries. Forms of discrimination that could be easily" solved" (for lack of a better term) if most people would just stop actively supporting them.

I’m a feminist. I also work with survivors of human trafficking. We don’t exclude men from receiving help. Toxic masculinity is a large barrier for men receiving help. They think it makes them look weak. I partially agree with that male trafficking victims don’t get enough attention.

Fortunately, that has been changing. In the last five to ten years there has been more focus and attention on male survivors. My only argument with this post is the focus on sex trafficking and not the broader human trafficking.

Acknowledging the fact that the vast majority of sexual trafficking survivors are girls and women is not a dismissal of men. It’s just reality. Between 70% to 99% of sex trafficking victims are women and girls. Exact numbers can be hard to find. This number also includes forces marriage.

Children make up 27% of all trafficking victims Two out of three child victims are girls. The majority of girls are involved in sexual exploration and forced marriage. Boys are often forced to work in mines, factories, agricultural work, or forced to fight in conflicts.

As more of the world are affected by conflicts and wars, and more communities and places are being affected by climate change, the number of refugees with be increasing, children will be even more in danger of child trafficking, as will adults, too.

In the end, it’s important to focus on what’s actually happening, and not blame feminists for not caring about human trafficking victims that are boys and men. The resources and the strategies to end this will be different depending on how victims first become involved with traffickers and what they’re forced to do. Working to end human trafficking helps boys and men too.

I’ve heard that trafficking for boys tends to be for hard labor in places like mining, but I don’t have sources for that
