Not meaning to be too unkind to Dr Moore (brunette chick) but it is pretty easy to see why she is single. The main thing she has going for her is being slim (which is now above average in terms of body).

But she likely uses that to overvalue herself.

Look closely at the pictures of her. And now picture what a guy of similar looks would be. And then think about how she would react to said guy (repulsed would be my guess)

The first one, having been alpha-widowed in college, now wants a religious man to turn up, wife her up with no information about sexual compatibility, and somehow meet even higher standards than she had when her looks might have commanded them.

The second one is over-educated and doesn't seem to be interested in finding a man (and if she is, who wants to bet that he would involuntarily host her book club/prayer group every week?). No thanks.

The third says she "valued being a mother more than I valued being a wife". In addition to being physically unattractive, then, she *literally* admits that she intends to offer NOTHING to any man that dates or marries her. Gee, I wonder why they're all so involuntarily single...

If you're a 30-something Catholic woman and still not married, the chances of finding a Catholic husband are slim. If there is one thing Catholics love, it's making babies, and Catholic men aren't marrying 30+ women. Hell, most straight men regardless of religious affiliation aim for 20-something women to have children. It's not rocket science, but articles like this attempt to make it so.

I think there is a biological aspect to this. They want to marry, they want to have kids. They want this, they want that. Yet when it comes down to what we want, they're not interested. Our primal urges turn them off. I consider myself to be a spiritual man, but I don't believe in any practiced organized religion. Why? Men are a corruptive influence on everything. The Bible "versions" favored the religions of the time. Some Bibles are not complete. Yet when it comes down to what the Bible says about what happens when a man and woman marry, the women do not want to practice that a wife is to be sub to her husband. Oh, I do believe in a 50/50 relationship... well may 55/45. But for me that 5% is more than what the women want to give up.

I dated a woman who was becoming a youth pastor years ago when I was in college. I could never feel good enough for her, there was always something else more important to her then how I felt, it was how God felt. One only has to look at a national census report of demographic data by age and see that as time goes on, less men are alive per age group than women. Starting at around 30-35 or so.

So before even taking into account the difference in dating and mating strategies between each sex - it still behooves women to lock down a man early if she wants to maximize her chance of having someone there for the latter portion of her life.

Now add in those differences and it become achingly clear that any woman wasting her peak negotiating period on other pursuits if marriage is an end goal for her is an idiot. Or holding out for Mr Big triple 6 CEO werewolf rockstar cowboy vampire surgeon tier man when the woman is barely a 5 on a good day with makeup on.
