Julian Assange was first arrested as a result of accusations made against him by a pair of prominent feminist activists in Sweden, which he has called "The Saudi Arabia of Feminism". One of those two feminist activists was previously employed by a CIA-backed anti-Castro feminist organisation in Cuba, and was allegedly deported from Cuba as a subversive.

The accusations made against Assange were never plausible, and the second accuser was initially uncomfortable with making the accusations. The charges were also dropped by the responsible prosecutor, before being revived by a feminist activist who was a prosecutor from a different part of Sweden.

There is a longstanding connection between feminism and the CIA. Most recently the CIA were revealed to have been planning to use feminism in propaganda supporting continued US military involvement in Afghanistan. Perhaps most notably, Gloria Steinem has spoken about working for the CIA to disrupt left wing youth movements before founding Ms Magazine, which was founded with CIA funding. That particular piece of information was first revealed by a Marxist feminist group called the Red Stockings, but Steinem has since confirmed it.

Assange has always said that the Swedish accusations were only a pretence to allow him to be extradited on to America.

I think this case is indicative of how feminism can be used as a weapon by the powers that be against left wing opposition, and sexual accusations are particularly powerful. In recent American politics we have the cases of Scott Stringer, Alex Morse, Al Franken, Shaheed Buttar. All leftish who had their careers destroyed by flimsy accusations which were soon disproven.

This seems to be the real new normal. Ever greater crackdowns with feminism as an excuse, and left wing politics dominated by establishment-friendly women, because they are the ones who don't get MeTooed.
