Personally, I think those chatbots are to people like, you know, actors in any kind of movie. And I mean any kind.

Here, we're pretty much agreed that a man who likes to watches... certain kinds of film material (I'm not willing to insult movies here...) where women are horribly abused (whether it's real or not)... has many of the same tendencies in real life and should be avoided.

I don't think it's any different for a man who likes to abuse a chatbot. To me, it's a sign of an underlying belief and type of behavior that needs to be avoided. Just like we avoid people who are needlessly cruel to animals or small children, we should avoid people who are needlessly cruel to chatbots. Because there's a high chance that it doesn't stop with animals, small children or chatbots, respectively.

super noteworthy!

i went on a date a few years ago and i was over at his place, this was around date 3 (and i shouldve never went over in the first place imo) and he treated his alexa like shit! called her stupid, and was literally yelling at the AI, shouting just a whole bunch of nonsense. he was also really pissed off i wouldnt make out with him and just totally ready to steamroll all my boundaries.

i got caught up because he was a tech bro and lived in a really nice flat, but yeah..total abuser.

i ghosted right after.

If they're a fan of tech and abuse it, red flag 🚩 That being said, I personally am not a fan of modern "ai" and it's behaviour, so that's often something I turn away from in a potential partner. There is currently no such thing as true AI, and the more you learn about tech the likely you are to be wary of it. "But if they're wary of it/don't like it, why have it?" Good question: we don't have a choice is the answer. If you have an iPhone or pixel, all your conversations are recorded, with many Samsung phones doing the same. If you have Google as the OS, same deal, and any camera or microphone on a device connected to the internet can be activated and used against your will and without your knowledge. Pictures taken are saved, even if deleted, and while it is currently illegal, companies have the ability to remotely access your devices and all contents therein. To my knowledge so far, American, Australian, and British governments have already tried and failed to gain access to these resources.

Tl:dr: be careful with tech and unless they're a fanboy, telling Alexa, Siri, or Google assistant to f*** off is pretty understandable.

This is literally middle schooler behavior. It reminds me of when I was in 5th grade and me and my friends would teach Cleverbot to swear because we thought it was funny. Imagine being an adult and still doing that?? Wild.
