One of my good friends is from India. His ex wife sent her dad and brothers to his parents home to falsely accuse my friend of not paying child support. This is 7 years after they divorced, and my friend was never even told there was a child!

Her family is demanding money and threatening to go to court if they don't get paid. He's really stressed about this, especially because his parents aren't doing well health wise and now they have to deal with this intimidation.

In fact, the reason we would not allow adults having sex with people under 16, for instance, is that we posit that they are not capable of full consent. Surely, neither is an addict. In fact that is why I as a liberal (libertarian for Americans) question whether it is in fact compatible with liberty to liberalise recreational drug use completely: if an addict is capable of neglecting her children for a fix, it is hard to argue she is in fact exercising free choice in a way anywhere close to the philosophical ideal of the notion.

Sorry, I am a bit obsessed with looking for kernels of truth among the hype on most issues. Nevertheless, we are talking about kernels only.
