It’s both. I can’t deny that I lift weights and try to look good for girls, but I also do it because it makes me feel good, strong, like I look “neat” in the mirror, and makes me perform well in physical stuff

I think that "for themselves" is more a defense mechanism. Women don't make a lot of sense on that topic though. They will say they look good for themselves and ask their male friends how they look. I've been in that situation many times and if you just say "you look fine" they take that as an insult.

They care about our validation, they're just too proud to admit it.

Makeup is a fucking racket though. Look at someone like Cardi B who looks relatively busted in comparison to her makeup.

Makeup doesn't change the shape of your face and really can't work miracles, most people look similar with makeup to without. It's not exactly disguising much. Men have complete access to do this as well. With that being said, women who wear makeup regularly don't do it for themselves, otherwise they wouldn't only do it when they went out.

I like to wear it as I feel more put together. Im pale with blond lashes so a little enhancement makes me feel more put together like wearing good shoes with your dress outfit.

You wont look as put together wearing ratty shoes.

Most certainly Id wear makeup for a date and look as nice as I can but its not all about a man. I look just as nice going to dinner with my parents.

Like, you might have a case for foundation, highlighting, contour, etc. How many men are basing female attractiveness on "damn girl look at that bold, flirty eyeshadow 😍." That shit is mostly for other women.
