That's true, but let's not forget that women don't just disregard red flags on their own, they're trained to, not just socially (other people's examples and comments), but also through cultural material, like movies/tv, books etc.

Our brain can't really tell the difference between fictional people and real people we know, and this has all kinds of real-life application. The fact that those materials are chock-full of heroic guys who fight the good fight while accidentally neglecting their significant other, or who just happen to be in situations where it's necessary for them to act shady etc. is conditioning women to accept this kind of behavior, or else to forgive it, or else to give men the benefit of the doubt way past the point where it's warranted.
