"Be a man" is basically just saying "this is the bare minimum you must do in order to qualify"; it doesn't actually amount to praise. This gets truly horrific when we consider that what one must do in order to "be a man" leads to dying in wars, etc.

Meanwhile, "girl power" implies praise, as if the girl/woman is doing something above and beyond just the bare minimum. And "girl power" often amounts to innocuous things that don't really even mean much (certainly nothing like dying in wars), usually just superficial gestures.

So men are expected to sacrifice and not get praise, but women are praised for doing nothing.

Which side has it better again?

I do not agree with you. You simply put the worst of men phrases, I mean the really machist and toxic ones, and put the pretty ones for the women. You biased the analysis automatically.

There are also some phrases that try to make girls submissive while men be the ones above. Specially anything related to the classic marriage. As a married men I can see that women have a lot of pressure from society to not work and to have children which they must take care. In the opposite side, men have the pressure to no be present with the kids because they need to work all time, to not do any domestic work and leave everything with the women eve if she works all the time also.

Iam just saying if you only see for the bad from men, and compare with the good of women is not a fair comparison. Look (search for it if needed) for the bad in both and the good from both, talk and live with a women and you will see not everything is flowers.

The way you put it you are victimizing yourself. Instead in only see for your suffering, go and search for the suffering of the other.

Just look at the sitcoms and commercials on tv - men are generally cast brainless dolts and women are cast as empowered and and demeaning to the men. Men are e elected to just deal quietly with whatever issues come up
