Men aren’t going to be there for women in traditional ways and most feminists I know are losing their $hit over it.

every man that's ever had a crazy ex that stalked him online suddenly feels very vindicated.

because we've been saying this FOREVER

[–]ExMuzzy 20 points21 points22 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I swear if I liked even my female cousins posts on instagram I wouldn’t hear the end of it from my ex

If anyone is surprised by this, they haven't been paying attention at all.

And the news is?

[–]Aimless-Nomad 16 points17 points18 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

that people are finally waking up (albeit extremely slowly)

I mean wasn’t there a female astronaut who committed the first crime in space by stalking her ex while on the international space station?

[–]SuninMyPalm 3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

no, she tried to ROB her ex's bank account

It looks like OP posted an AMP link. These should load faster, but AMP is controversial because of concerns over privacy and the Open Web.

Maybe check out the canonical page instead: https://www.psychologytoday.com/ca/blog/finding-new-home/202204/new-research-3-forms-intimate-partner-cyberstalking

Lol just see some women's on online forums Either they freak out, cry or stalk and sexualize men but nah it's fine because men enjoy stalking right

Men are more likely to be actively aggressive. Women are more likely to be passively aggressive. And dog bites man, news at 11.

Nothing surprising here to anybody who understands gender dimorphism.

In the last four years I’ve had two absolute psychos cyberstalk me. Doing things like contacting me privately on different sites and talking about my looks then exploding when I don’t reply soon enough. I’ve had to shut down at least four social media accounts to escape them, then I’ll get contacted at work.

[–]contraterrene 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

That's pretty warped.

[–]raclnp 4 points5 points6 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The worst is that it makes you feel so guilty and scared, and it takes a long time even after a breakup to feel more free again.

Usually media suggests it's the other way round. It is really helpful to read that. It makes you remember instances where it happened that were mistaken as "liking you", when it really was about controlling you or making sure you conform or "obey".

They had to do a study on this??? Shit, I could have told them this after seeing how every ex has acted and even how my own sister acts.

My mom and aunt were getting weird messages on facebook for a year, we went out for 2 weeks.

[–]raclnp 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The weird thing is that during the relationship you feel scared to post anything publicly, feel surveilled all the time, then when it's finally over and you talk to her for closure, suddenly she lashes out as if you had been that type of person (and not her), just because she suddenly decided she is done, and you have no time to clarify anything that happened properly.

Oh, you men the thing men have been saying is abusive behavior has now leaked into the online space and been exacerbated? Shocking.. who would have seen this coming?

I swear, when it comes to women abusing and harassing men, society is always like 40 years behind in just the taking notice part.

Whereas men are more likely to engage in actual physical stalking.

[–]MBV-09-C 3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

Found the person that thinks abuse is a contest.

[+]Sailbad_the_Sinner30 -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Yeah, the OP does seem to think that.

[–]MBV-09-C 3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

OP started a topic with a source detailing a research finding, with the title being a verbatim quote from from the article, whereas you just jumped in with a whataboutism, for... what reason, exactly?

[+]Sailbad_the_Sinner30 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

For the simple reason to remind people that stalking isn’t a particularly female behavior, which is what the title of this post implies.
