Is this a thing in other countries? In Germany we only offer our seat for elderly, handicapped, or pregnant people. I wouldn't stand up just because someone is a female

I'll never give my seat to anyone, because why should I? I paid for it, so I'm entitled to it. If anyone is sick or pregnant, then they need to book their seats beforehand, and not expect others to accomodate them just because of their condition.
