The cries of NAWALT and AWALT in TRP have always been oddly high for a place of its nature. One would assume that AWALT would be naturally assumed in such a community, but even in posts proclaiming the merits and truths of TRP we still often see mention of things like "TRP has helped me find me my NAWALT" or some other detail or claim to being in a relationship with one. That's contradictory. TRP teaches us that in no way can be true, in which case, leaves two possible conclusions. TRP is wrong, or you are wrong.

But my main focus in this post isn't debating the validity of people's claims to NAWALT. Nor is it to quell the "all extremes are bad" objections that will surely rise up (which if you've realized it or not, is an extreme in itself). Rather I want to delve into why.

Though I've been avidly following TRP for the last fourth of a year: reading the required material on the sidebar, following the blogs of ROK and therationalmale, and generally doing all I could do to catch up to 2 decades of lost time and wasted opportunity, I have to confess that I still can't say that I've swallowed the pill. I thought I did. After the first 2 months, I saw the world differently, I finally made sense of all the relationships and connections I had with women, and I felt the world was finally coming together in both sense and logic like it never had before. Reading blog entries and FRs no longer seemed like reading tales of chance conquest, but rather they read to me like repeated successes of a theory undergoing repetitive testing and emerging triumphant everytime.

But then I’d watched television for the first time in a while.

It was a comedy. Conventional. Alpha male, excelled in everything he did. Only had one vulnerability, a weak emotional side that almost never showed up. It would be the one high point for the heroine, who at the end would be solution and give him the happily ever after. And thats when I realized it.

That's what we saw ourselves as. And that’s what I still believed, even though every ounce of my logic screamed against it.

For us still talking about NAWALT, it's because we've yet to give up on that Disney dream. In a twist of culture, we became little Disney Princesses ourselves, but rather hoping to be rescued from some danger or epic adventure, it’d be salvation from emotional and lifelong solitude. We were brought up expecting to be the saviors and undertakers of physical injury and risk, in return, women would be there to tend to our weaker sides. The sides that as a man, we’d spend our lives hiding… until we met that one “special one.”

But in that case, we are no different from the delusional women expecting their Prince Charming. For those in the BP, the betas, the nice guys, and even those still believing in NAWALT in TRP, we are the same as those women. Maybe those of us in TRP are slightly better because we believe in self-improvement and making ourselves men of worth, and thus worthy of such a thing (if it existed). But all of us are equal in expecting from life something delusional.

To believe that in life, there is someone out that would take care and unconditionally love you for who you are inside? That ideal has been sweetened by decades of commercials and romances, but if we read it stripped of its sentiment, of the memories of it being said in movies and commercials, of the feelings it resounds through the lies of parents and friends, then we can see that it is not only completely delusional, but a pure statement of selfish greed, laziness, and entitlement. The idea of a soulmate or an eternal emotional partner who will come to love us for our weakness and heal us of it? It reeks of “If you can’t take me at my worse,” except now it’s “love me BECAUSE of my worse and if you would please, make me feel less insecure about it.”

To truly swallow the pill, we really have to completely swallow the idea that man is an island. Not just read it and nod, but really digest and apply it. We can avert our eyes to that fact. We can hide from it as much as we want. But to claim that it is untrue or to seek a goal that conflicts with that fact only invites disappointment and impossibility. Throw away the dream that your parents told you about living life in a happy family with a loving wife that was also your “life partner.” That dream is exactly what it is, a dream. Realize that life does not care about us. About our disappoints. About our goals. About our hardwork. About our desperations. It does not care what we went through, and it will not give us any relief in any point of our lives because of what we have suffered or feel we deserve. And neither will anyone else besides ourselves.

If we are still hoping for that goal of a happy family, then we have to realize that for it to come true, it has to change. It has to change to reflect reality and the truth. We have to realize because AWALT, in order to get something that most closely resembles that life partner, we have to be on our LTR marriage game 24/7. And that when we finally get it, it will something so alien and different that it will be nothing close to what we expected. We have to realize that everyone is born equal in that we are all self-interested and self-serving, though each of us hide it under different levels of lies and deceit we tell both ourselves and the world to feel better. Both men and women.

The main tenants of TRP on both sexual and life strategies are based on the realities of human evolution and biological design, to say NAWALT then is not the same as saying "this woman is special," or "this girl is not like her peers," rather its saying "she is not human." All women are hypergamous, the difference is whether or not they will act on it. Whether it is suppressed and how strongly it is. If your partner has not yet shown signs of it, it is not because NAWALT. It is because she is unable to. Even though her natural instincts strive desperately for it, there is something that prevents her from doing so. But do not so dangerous attribute the factor prohibiting it to be love or loyalty or something valiant. No, it is never that honorable a reason. It’s something else. Firm parenting, militant religious upbringing, low SMV, societal pressure, it is always some other greater invisible external force that keeps her as a good girl. It is not her.

You can take the girl out of the hamster, but you cant take the hamster out of the girl.

TLDR: Don’t be a princess.
