I know, I know. Another "no duh" CMV. I'm making this mostly because I'm sick of seeing the black-pilled incel types and black-pilled felcem & princess types talk about how they have no hope. How there's always that one thing wrong with them (conveniently an immutable characteristic 😒) that they can't overcome. How there's always an inherent dysfunction of the sexual marketplace that they can't navigate with any emergent strategy. I'm sorry, but it's invariably, to a person, a cop out. Folks who say they "can't win" simply want to give up. Maybe they've been hurt already. Maybe they've got mental issues. Maybe they just don't like the idea of Doing the Work and Being Reasonable because it doesn't sound fun or sexy. But c'mon. They're still coping out, and they just wanna rationalize it.

But hey, it's a CMV, so prove me wrong. The thing is, to prove me wrong, you can't just say a problem exists. I know what all the problems are, I'm railing against them everyday. To prove me wrong, you have to explain why a reasonably proactive, competent person can't overcome any one problem. Tell me how a short guy who gets a good job, gets/stays in good shape, and has good social skills can't date successfully. Seriously, I'll wait.

Similarly, tell me how a woman who has all those same things (job, fitness, social skills) can't find her looksmatch and marry him (if that's her goal). Seriously, tell me. I'm not even expecting her to do all that work in courtship or pay for the dates, mind you. I'm just asking why a woman who's physically, economically, and socially competent can't get into a successful LTR with her looksmatch.

But hey, I get it. Working out is hard. Finding a good job (or getting a better one) is hard too. I'd argue being socially intelligent isn't that hard, especially by comparison, but I'm also not suffering from any ongoing mental health issues. (Anyone who is mentally struggling should seek help before they even bother with anything else btw.)

Me? I'm mildly neuro-atypical, but I do the work to keep that in check and not let it hold me back. I have a good job that affords me a decent amount of free time and even some travel. I work out, stay in shape, and date within my league (without a crazy checklist). I'm practicing what I preach, basically.

And that's kind of it. Do the Work and Be Reasonable. If you can tell me why a normal person who's making good faith efforts truly can't catch a break, I'm all ears. But if all you wanna do is blame one thing you conveniently can't change for all your problems, maybe just keep that little cope to yourself?
