I’m posting here because I feel conflicted, I’ve been posting in MRP for a while now on and off. I’ve started to feel disillusioned with it.

On the one hand I feel like some of the principles are absolutely correct, but then other stuff just feels way off.

The mental conflict I have going on is am I feeling this way because I’m lazy or can’t do the work like other guys. I have done a lot of work and improved a lot I got a lot out of mr nice guy which to me seems the most sensible book.

I have come to the conclusion that I should just try and be the best I can be, have boundaries, be attractive, take care of myself, get things done and be productive. But to also know that i do have some problems that I will have to work on probably my whole life. I think I have adhd which I won’t use as an excuse for anything and won’t take medication for but to be aware of the traits present because of this and work with them. ADHD is a swear word in that forum and to bring it up would be MRP suicide.

I feel like a more common sense approach to things is sensible.

The culture in the MRP sub seems to be veteran members in a clique who use their status to (what I can only describe as bully) newer members and it’s not a tough love type of way it’s just shitty, snarky abuse that much of the time is unhelpful and none constructive with more junior members who are like groupies backing up these guys.

Have I got this wrong? Am I just being a pussy? Surely a guy who’s got his shit together would have better things to do then hang around a sub giving guys shit for being weak. And they do hang round because the replies to posts are often instant from the same guys. They wouldn’t speak to someone like that IRL so why here?
