Why should women have shorter sentences?

It seems like courts treat grown up women as juvenile.

When women commit crimes people look into their history with a fine tooth comb to see what might have caused them to behave that way. Even if they can't find anything, they will make something up to make them more sympathetic.

There was a post on askreddit about men who've been raped by women. One thing I noticed is that when the female rapist is younger (16-19), they say that the behaviour was learnt somewhere, that the poor rapist was probably sexually abused by some male figure in her life.

When men commit crimes they don't give two shits, he must be evil.

Also, the reasons that women get shorter sentences in the UK as they have families, mental health issues, report being abused as a child, etc. can just as well be applied to men.

40% shorter, from what I've heard. Men are also 3.4 times as likely to face jail time for the same crimes.

People complain about the sentencing inequality between blacks and white and they should, but those differences are tiny compared to the sex differential. It's outrageously unjust.

Certainly the women are wonder effect is part of it, but even when women are found guilty, like children they are held less responsible. There’s a overall feeling that we are supposed to be softer on women no matter what they do. If a woman hits us, we are not supposed to hit back, etc. In the end it all comes down to gynocentrism.

I know they DO get shorter and more lenient sentences, but I don't believe there is a legitimate reason for it.

Because they are adorable. I say this with a fair amount of cynicism and anger but it certainly seems to be part of the case.

Women should have longer sentences. Because they live longer, each day in prison is a shorter period of their total life and therefore less of an impact on them.

I'll be devils advocate on this one. Women tend to be more empathetic, while men tend to be more pragmatic. It could be argued it takes less time for a woman to learn her lesson than a man.

However this is actually a stupid argument. Even if it's true, a crime should offer the same consequence regardless of the criminals gender.

Women's sentences should be strictly limited. A ten word maximum should be enforced. Also there should be a compulsory ad break every three minutes.

Women should NOT get shorter sentences. A woman can literally murder an unarmed man on video surveillance (fucking mag dump on a guy who was just verbally arguing, no weapons, no threats made). And be completely cleared of all charges by jury despite video showing her shooting him in the back while he’s scrambling away after she opened fire on him in cold blood.

Meanwhile countless people will say, “well maybe she felt threatened.” Bitch, she shot him 6+ times for standing there with his arms folded arguing! Makes me sick how a woman can get away with this, while a man would absolutely be crucified.
